Boys + horses + childhood friends to lovers = one heck of a roar coaster!
When Esme's brother dies, Esme is sent to move into her child hood best friends home on a ranch. Little does she know rhat the boy she once knew isn't the same little kid that...
As soon as my mom bid her goodbyes to us and pulled out of the driveway Katlynn turned to me, "how about we show you your room."
Before this, before the last summer I ever stayed her which was two years ago, I had a guest room that I stayed in with dad. But I would normally just have a sleep over with Miles every knight in his room. This year not me that they have Benji, he has my old room. And after what happened... I don't think I'm staying with Miles any time soon...
Leading me up the stairs I follow Katlynn up to the second floor, where she lead me to a door. Walking up a narrow staircase I reach that attic which had been remodeled to a bedroom. Some boxes still sat in the corner that hadn't been taken out yet, but the fresh coat of white paint and bed was new. And so was the small bookshelf.

"I know it's a bit cramped, but due to the roof window it should have good lighting and feel less small."Katlynn says. "And Raiden should be up with your bags soon."
"Here" Raiden walks in dropping the bags. Before he leaves he turns to me, "nice seeing you Smee" Smee. The nick name that I loathed since forever. Once Katleen accident called me that and the name stuck.
I smiled and turned back to Katlynn.
"Well... I'll let you unpack... I'll have one of the boys grab the last of the storage boxes in a bit" she says and she goes to leave.
After an hour I had the whole room set up. Books lined the shelves and mini pictures of friends from back home lined the walls with some c-d's of my favorite albums.
Sitting on the bed in relief I pull out my phone to text my friend from back home. Aicko. She told me I had to keep her posted at all times saying I needed a little bit of society since I was moving to the middle of nowhere.
Me: Just arrived and unpacked.
Aicko: is it smelly with horses? Cows? 🐄 🐴
Me: you do remember that I used to come here every summer, right?
Aicko: just asking. That's what I read about Wyoming anyways.
Me: I'll have to force you to come down sometime so that you can see it's not all animalsuu and cowboys.
Aicko: but there are cowboys. 🤠
Me: I guess.
Aicko: anyone cute? I hope there is at least some boy population into this mix.
Me: how did the conversation get to this?
Aicko: this is important to your life as a teenage girl. Especially since you're starting school for the first time since you've always been homeschooled.
Me: 🙄 I'm going to read now.
Aicko: you do that 😄
Sighing I set down my phone in defeat. Aicko had been my friend since forever. We did everything together. We'd meet at the local library and been friends ever since.
