☆━━━GRAYSON KNOCKED ON APRIL'S bedroom door, jumping slightly when it swung open to reveal her sister. The blonde lifted a dark brow, gaze traveling over April as she took in her choice of clothing, which was actually quite cute, before her eyes snapped back up with a curious gleam.
"What's the special occasion?"
April, who was looking rather nervous, ran a hand through her hair. "I know it's my turn to go shopping for snacks, but I just got a call from Vern and apparently Rita wants to see me..."
At this, Grayson's eyes round, "Wait, Rita? You mean Rita, the head of the network, Rita?" The blonde asked and watched as her sister nodded, "What does she want with you?"
April shrugged before quickly pushing past Grayson, making her way to the bathroom to check her appearance, her younger sister hot on her heels, "I dunno, but from what Vern said, these kinds of things go one of two ways. Either she is going to fire me, or she's about to offer me some big promotion."
At this information, Grayson let out a squeal and pulled the stressed reporter into a bone-crushing hug. "April, I'm so happy for you! Because I know there's no way you're getting fired, I mean, you've been busting your ass for something like this." She rambled, her face smushing into April's chest as her eyes shimmered in pure joy, "I mean, after you covered the attack on New York, I knew you'd be sitting with the big dogs!"
April chuckled at the younger girl's excitement, pulling back so she could look down at her. "I haven't got the promotion yet,"
Grayson rolled her eyes, "So? I know this is something great, the gods are whispering again, April, and they say your luck is about to change." She dramatically said before her eyes grew even bigger, "Oh, we gotta tell the guys, they're gonna be happy to know that their ass-kicking has paid off!"
What she meant by that was, the four brothers would regularly keep them informed about their patrols in the city. Which in turn, helped the girls out a lot when they needed a good story to cover. And it really helped their relationship with Thompson, seeing as every week, they seemed to pull a new story right out of their ass. Was it considered cheating? Maybe. But for a reporter, you need secret sources, and theirs so happened to be four Mutant Turtles.
