Aadhira

I awakened to the sound of the door shutting, ensuring he had truly left. Relaxing against the headboard, I stifled a yawn before rising for a hot bath. Drying my hair with the dryer, I dressed in a red salwar suit. While moisturizing my face, my gaze landed on the sindoor box. Despite my reluctance, I applied it to my hairline. Exiting the chamber, I encountered Ruhi holding the puja plate, her bright smile infectious.

"Rani sa, see, I've prepared the puja plate for you," she exclaimed, her enthusiasm bringing a smile to my face.

Ruhi serves as my personal attendant, appointed by Rajmata. At first I denied having a servant for myself. But Rajmata insisted that in the palace, it's customary for each royal member to have their own servant, so as the queen, I should also have one.

Initially, I disregarded Ruhi, but her lively, talkative nature proved persistent. She would keep on talking, oblivious to whether I was paying attention or not, faithfully trailing me everywhere. Over time, I grew fond of her. Despite her youth and beauty, her charm lies in her boundless positivity and innocence.

"Okay, let's go" I said with a grin.

We headed to the garden to gather flowers for the puja. Then, together, we entered Madhav's temple. Draping a shawl over my head, I began the puja, singing as I performed the rituals, forgetting myself and all my worries as I worshipped my Madhav to my heart content. Finishing the puja with a smile, I turned to Ruhi and motioned for her to take the aarthi plate. With a smile, she obliged. We both sat in the temple for a while.

"Your voice is so lovely, Rani sa. Starting my day with your puja song always brings cheerfulness. I wish I could sing like you. Would you teach me, Rani sa?" she asked eagerly, her eyes shining. I chuckled at her request.

"Ruhi, how many times have I told you that I am not a professional singer so I cannot teach you, huh" I said with a smile as she pouted sadly.

"Okay, let's head to the garden," I suggested, rising from my seat. I settled on a bench in the garden while Ruhi sat on the grass, dew covering the ground.

I inhaled the cool air which is filled with the frangrance of the flowers in the garden while admiring the morning sky. This has been my daily routine for the past month, waking up when the man leaves the room, performing puja to Madhav, and spending time in the garden with Ruhi. Not much had changed during this time, but there were a few differences. For instance, my relationship with the younger prince, Ranveer, and his mother, Ragini Singh Suryavanshi, had notably improved.

And then there's Rajamata... No, Dadi sa, who also treats me well. It was she who suggested I call her Dadi sa. It's surprising to me that I don't dislike her as much as before. Despite her stern exterior, she has a soft spot in her heart. We don't talk much, just exchanging simple greetings. Occasionally, she'll join me for coffee in my chamber, or I'll visit her in her chamber.

Initially, whenever she spoke in favor of her grandson, it would often lead to arguments between us. However, she eventually stopped discussing her grandson in my presence. While it could be said that we've reached a sort of peace, I still can't forgive her for the way she spoke to my family when she came to ask my hand in marriage for her grandson.

Apart from these three individuals and Ruhi, I don't have any particularly positive relationships with others. As for the so called Maharaj, I treat him like an invisible object in order to maintain my sanity.

However, whenever he would say something triggering, it usually leads to a huge argument. After that he would avoid coming to the chamber and stay in his office for two to three days. Eventually, he shamelessly returns and attempts to flirt with me. During our last argument, he even went as far as breaking his own laptop and phone, and didn't return for four days.
