"Rani sa, are you awake?" I heard Ruhi ask as I opened my eyes. I stared blankly at the ceiling, feeling a heaviness in my head.

"Rani sa?" Ruhi called out again, her face filled with worry.

"Ruhi, could you give me some water?" I requested, feeling my throat dry and my mouth bitter. She helped me sit up and placed a pillow behind me for support.

"Rani sa, here is the water," Ruhi said, handing me a glass of warm water. As I reached for the glass, I noticed a white bandage on my swollen knuckles, and felt some pain.

Was I put on IV drips last night?

The thought made me frown. Ruhi, realizing I couldn't hold the glass, placed it near my lips. I drank the water, feeling a bit better as the bitterness in my mouth was washed away. I sighed with relief and leaned my head against the headrest.

"Rani sa, you were fine yesterday. How did you suddenly get sick overnight?" Ruhi asked with a frown, standing beside me. I closed my eyes, recalling the events of last night.

"Rani sa, do you feel any discomfort?" she asked, making me smile.

"Don't worry, Ruhi. I'm fine," I said, patting her cheek.

"Rani sa, you look so weak and pale. How can you be fine? You had a high fever last night. Even after the doctor gave you a shot, your fever didn't go down. You were crying and murmuring in your sleep. The doctor had to put you on IV drips, and only then did your fever start to reduce," she explained, her eyes welling up. I sighed as I looked at her.

"Hey... I'm just weak now, Ruhi. Everyone feels weak after a fever, and so do I. But I am feeling better than last night," I reassured her. My gaze fell on the window, where the sun was at its peak, indicating it was noon.

Did I sleep until noon?

Ruhi was about to say something when Dadi sa suddenly entered the room with Champa. She came over and sat beside me, touching my forehead to check my fever.

"Your fever has gone down now," Dadi sa said, calling for her personal maid.

"Yes, Rajmata," Champa responded, coming to her side.

"Prepare vegetable soup with only salt, no spices, for Rani sa," Dadi sa instructed, looking at her.

"Yes, Rajmata," Champa replied and left the room.

"Ruhi, go and help Champa," Dadi sa instructed, looking at Ruhi who stood beside me.

"Yes, Rajmata," Ruhi said, hurrying out of the room, making me smile.

"How are you feeling now?" Dadi sa asked with concern.

"Feeling better," I replied with a slight smile. She nodded.

"Your things are arranged in the next room. You can go and freshen up," she said. I nodded, removing the quilt and attempting to get out of bed. Dadi sa helped me stand. I sighed in relief as I only felt a slight headache and not dizziness.
