The stage was set for another thrilling performance of “Hamilton”. The cast was ready, the audience buzzing with anticipation. Y/N, as Peggy Schuyler and part of the ensemble, was at her usual spot, brimming with the energy that always accompanied showtime. The atmosphere backstage was a mix of excitement and focus, everyone going through final checks before the curtain rose.

Unbeknownst to the cast and crew, a catastrophic mistake had occurred within the props department. One of the fake guns, used in the production, had been mistakenly replaced with a real one. It was like a game of Russian roulette on who would be the unfortunate person to hold the real one.

The show began as usual, the familiar beats and rhythms electrifying the theater. Y/N’s voice blending beautifully in with the others as they performed the opening song. The audience responded with applauses. Everything was going smoothly as the show progresses and soon it was the final sequence of the show. Aaron Burr and Hamilton’s duel.

Unfortunately, luck was not in Leslie’s side that night because in his hand was the real gun that was mistakenly mixed with the fake ones.

As the duel scene between Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton unfolded, tension filled the air. Leslie aimed the gun towards Lin. Leslie pulled the trigger and instead of the sound effects, a deafening bang filled the theater. Panic ensued as the cast realized something had gone wrong. Y/N, offstage at the side, felt a searing pain as the stray bullet hit her right on the chest.

Leslie’s face paled with horror, coincidently as it should be, as he witnessed what happened. Lin, in his full power tried to stop himself from stopping the show and rushing to Y/N. As if they all read each other’s minds, they silently agreed to finish the show first before they let their emotions take over and inform the audience of the incident. This is to avoid alarming the audience and causing chaos during the show.

As the cast was doing their best to hide the situation from the public. Off-stage, the staff sprang into action, rushing to Y/N’s side. “Someone call for help! Get her to the hospital.” the director Thomas Kail shouted, his voice trembling with urgency.

As Y/N was whisked away, she took one last look of everything. The stage, the faces of her beloved cast members and the audience. She prayed that she’ll survive this and live to perform another day.

As Y/N was rushed to the hospital, the cast of “Hamilton” pressed on with the final scene, “Who lives, Who dies, Who tells your Story.” Despite the chaos and concern weighing heavy on their hearts, they knew they had to delivery a powerful performance, not just for the audience, but for Y/N as well.

Chris stood center stage, his voice filled with emotion as he sang the opening lines. “Let me tell you what I wish I’d known when I was young and dreamed of glory, you have no control” Chris sang, his eyes reflecting the turmoil of the moment.

“Who lives, who dies, who tells your story.” The rest of the cast joined in, their voices blending in harmony as they wove a tapestry of sound and emotion. Each note filled with a mix of fear and hopefulness, their thoughts consumed by the fate of their injured castmate.

They reflected on the fleeting nature of life and the importance of leaving a lasting memory. They couldn’t help but think of Y/N, only 15 years old but her future is hanging in the balance as she fought for her life.

Leslie, who had unwittingly caused the accident, felt a lump form in his throat as he sang along. His voice cracked with emotion, the weight of guilt and remorse heavy on his shoulders.

As the final notes of “Who lives, Who dies, Who tells your Story” faded into the air, the cast stood together on stage, their emotions raw and palpable. Lin stepped forward, his voice steady yet filled with emotion.
