Y/N Laboy sat on her bed, flipping through a magazine, when her brother Justin burst into the room, a wide grin on his face.

"Y/N, guess what?" Justin exclaimed, flopping down on the bed beside her.

"What?" Y/N asked, raising an eyebrow at his excitement.

"We have a new transferee in school. Her name is Naomi Rodriguez. She's in two of my classes, and she's... amazing." Justin's eyes sparkled as he spoke, and Y/N could practically see the hearts in them.

"Wow, someone’s got a crush," Y/N teased, nudging him playfully. "What’s so amazing about her?"

"She's a light-skinned Puerto Rican-Dominican, long hair, mature in the body like woah" Justin said dreamily. "That's not the only reason I liked her, though.
She said she moved with her mother to Florida from New York. So did, we. So I said 'Hi'. You should meet her. She’s really cool."

Y/N nodded, curious about this girl who had her brother so captivated. "Maybe I will."

The next day at Park Vista Community High School, Y/N kept an eye out for Naomi Rodriguez. During lunch, she spotted a girl with long, dark hair sitting by herself under a tree, reading a book. Y/N recognized her from the description Justin had given and decided to introduce herself.

"Hey, Naomi, right?" Y/N said as she approached.

Naomi looked up, her eyes sharp and observant before they softened into a friendly smile. "Yeah, that's me. You must be Y/N. Justin talks about you a lot."

"All good things, I hope," Y/N replied with a grin, sitting down beside her.

"Only the best," Naomi assured her. "It's nice to finally meet you."

They chatted for a while, and Y/N found Naomi to be just as charming and intriguing as Justin had described. However, there was something about Naomi that made Y/N feel uneasy. She seemed to be constantly on alert, her eyes darting around the school grounds as if she were looking for something... or someone. But Y/N shrugged it off, reminding herself that this was the girl her brother was crushing on.

Later that day, Y/N headed to her art class. As she walked down the hallway, she noticed Naomi talking to a group of seniors near the lockers. Naomi’s posture was relaxed, but her eyes were focused and intense, almost predatory.

“Yeah, I heard about that party,” Naomi was saying. “Sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Maybe I’ll see you guys there?”

One of the seniors, a tall guy, nodded. “Yeah, totally. We’ll be there. It’s  gonna be a good time.”

Naomi’s smile was sweet but didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Looking forward to it.”

As Y/N walked away, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. Naomi’s interest in the party seemed more like an interrogation than casual conversation. But Y/N decided not to mention it to Justin, not wanting to ruin his excitement over Naomi.

As the weeks rolled by, Y/N watched with growing concern as Justin and Naomi grew increasingly close. They were always texting and chatting on the phone, often laughing together in the hallway or sharing inside jokes. Justin even let Naomi copy his homework, something he’d never done for anyone else.

Y/N had intended to talk to Justin about her suspicions but couldn’t bring herself to ruin his excitement. She saw how happy Naomi made him, and she didn’t want to be the one to shatter that illusion. Despite her unease, Y/N decided to keep a close eye on Naomi, hoping that the girl would reveal her true intentions soon.
