The sun hung low in the sky, casting an eerie light over the battlefield as the clash between British redcoats and American revolutionaries raged on. Amid the chaos, the cries of soldiers and the thunder of muskets filled the air. In the middle of it all, a young girl, only ten years old, found herself caught in the crossfire.

Lafayette,Alexander Hamilton, John Laurens, and Hercules Mulligan were at the forefront of the skirmish, their eyes scanning for any sign of advantage. Suddenly, Lafayette's gaze fixed on the young girl, standing terrified and frozen in the midst of the turmoil.

"Mon Dieu! There's a child out there!" Lafayette shouted, pointing.

Alexander turned, his eyes narrowing. "We have to get her out of there!"

John and Hercules nodded in agreement, and the four men began to make their way toward the girl, battling through the chaos. Muskets fired around them, and the smell of gunpowder filled the air. Alexander was in the lead, his determination evident.

As they neared her, a redcoat lunged toward her, musket raised. Without thinking, Alexander drew his pistol and fired, the shot ringing out clear and sharp. The redcoat fell to the ground, lifeless.

The child screamed, her eyes wide with horror as she looked at the fallen soldier.

"No! Papa!" she cried, her voice breaking with grief.

Alexander froze, the realization of what he had just done sinking in. His eyes widened in shock and despair.

"Oh God..., I didn't know. I didn't know," he whispered, his voice trembling.

John reached the young girl first, pulling her into his arms and shielding her from the sight. "It's okay, you're safe now. We've got you, what's your name?" he murmured, trying to soothe her.

"Y/N" she said through her tears

Hercules kept a lookout, making sure no other redcoats were approaching. "We need to get her out of here, now!"

Lafayette placed a hand on Alexander's shoulder, a somber expression on his face. "We must move, mon ami. There will be time for remorse later."

Alexander nodded, his heart heavy with guilt. Together, they escorted Y/N away from the battlefield, keeping her between them and the line of fire. She clung to John, tears streaming down her face, her sobs barely audible over the din of battle.

As they reached the edge of the battlefield, Y/N's grief turned to panic. She looked up at Alexander, her eyes filled with terror.

"You killed him! You killed my Papa!" she screamed, struggling to break free from John's grasp.

Alexander's face paled, his voice faltering. "Y/N, I-I'm so sorry. I didn't know."

Y/N's breathing grew rapid, her eyes darting around wildly. The faces of the men who had tried to save her now seemed like the faces of monsters. Her vision blurred as the shock and horror overwhelmed her, and she lost consciousness, her body going limp in John's arms.

John held her close, his expression pained. "She's out. We need to get her somewhere safe."

Hercules nodded. "There's an abandoned cabin not far from here. We can take her there."

Lafayette took a deep breath, looking at Alexander. "We did what we had to do. She'll understand one day."

Alexander's eyes were filled with sorrow as he looked at Y/N's unconscious form. "I hope so," he whispered. "God, I hope so."

They moved quickly, carrying Y/N away from the battlefield, the weight of their actions hanging heavily over them.

Once the fighting ceased in the meantime, the four men returned to camp with Y/N still laying unconscious on John's back.
