Ten years had passed since the birth Y/N Hamilton, and in those year, she had grown into a lively, spirited little girl who bore an uncanny resemblance to the Y/N Alexander had met during the war. Her eyes shone with the same courage and kindness, and her laughter filled the Hamilton home with joy.
One sunny afternoon, the Hamilton family hosted a small gathering with their closest friends: Lafayette, Laurens and Mulligan. The air was filled with laughter and the scent of fresh-baked bread, as the friends reminisced about old times and celebrated the present.
Y/N Hamilton, now ten years old, ran into the room, her long hair flowing behind her. "Papa! Uncle Lafayette! Uncle John! Uncle Hercules!" she called out, her voice ringing with excitement.
Alexander turned to her, his heart swelling with pride and a bittersweet sense of nostalgia. "Y/N, come here and say hello to everyone."
She bounded over, a bright smile on her face. Lafayette knelt, his eyes widening as he took in her appearance. "My goodness, Alexander, she looks so much like her namesake."
John nodded, his eyes misty. "It's like seeing a ghost. The resemblance is remarkable."
Hercules ruffled her hair gently. "You've grown into a beautiful young lady, Y/N. Just like the girl you're named after."
Y/N beamed at the compliments, her curiosity piqued. "Papa, you always tell me stories about the war and about that girl you named me after. Can you tell me more about her."
Alexander exchanged a glance with Eliza, who nodded encouragingly. He knelt beside his daughter, his voice gentle. "The other Y/N was a very brave girl who we met during the war. She lost her father, and we rescued her. We took care of her, and she was so talented, kind and smart."
Y/N listened intently, her eyes wide. "Do I look like her? Uncle Lafayette said I do."
Alexander smiled, a tear slipping down his cheek. "Yes, you do little one. You have the same eyes and gorgeous smile. It's like she never left."
Y/N reached her hand up and wiped his father's tears away. "Don't cry Papa, I'm sure Y/N won't want to see you sad because I don't want to see you sad too."
Alexander composed himself and sat back down on his seat with Y/N on her lap.
"You know Y/N, she was like a little sister to us and a daughter to your father. Now, you remind us of her every day it's like we're witnessing her growing up through you." Lafayette said.
Y/N looked around at the men who had become her uncles, her heart filled with happiness and love "I'm glad I can remind you of someone special."
Eliza joined them, placing a hand on Y/N's shoulder. "You're a special girl, Y/N. We're so proud of you."
Y/N hugged her mother tightly, then turned back to her father and uncles. "I promise I'll be brave and kind, just like her."
Alexander hugged his daughter, his voice thick with emotion. "You already are Y/N. Always remember no matter how different or similar you are to your namesake, I will always love you because you are my daughter."
The day had been filled with laughter and warmth, but as the afternoon sun began to dip, a sudden chill seemed to sweep through the Hamilton household. Y/N, vibrant and full of energy just moments ago, suddenly paled and swayed on her feet.
"Papa," she whispered weakly, "I don't feel so good."
Before anyone could react, she collapsed.
"Y/N!" Alexander shouted, rushing to catch her before she hit the ground.
