CHAPTER SIX

Mini flashback

Emilio has walked into work the same as he did the days before that, but this time there was a hint of anger behind it. He was still pissed about that guy.

He fucking hate him. The little shit has an attitude he doesn't like.

Walking up the stairs to the meeting room with his boss and friends, he felt the anger slowly melt away making him slightly more relaxed. But not completely he still had a professional aura to him.

Once he got there, the group of men began to work on a collaboration with another company. Though soon after they began to get hungry and now they end up here, the diner.

End of mini flashback.

Alani gasps, grabs a few napkins and wipes the water that spilled on the table and passed a few to the emotionless man next to her.

"Oh no, Darino I'm so sorry." She softly says, slightly terrified as his face  showed no anger. But to her surprise they made eye contact. Darino saw the slight fear on her face and couldn't help but soften his gaze. Only slightly but everyone noticed.

"It's ok" he replied not breaking the intense eye contact.

For some reason, there was something about those calming green eyes. Now Darino was extremely good at reading people, he is a mafia boss after all, and behind those eyes were walls. Tough, tough walls made of trauma and strength she has collected all her life. But there was a crack in that wall and he saw pain. He knew he shouldn't but he couldn't help himself from becoming more intrigued as he finally saw the face of the beautiful woman Emilio always described.

"Alani come get your gremlins! I've been speaking to them for only a few second and I already want to kill my self!" She heard Mrs Kinor angrily shouted.

Alani turned and saw Camilo and Olivia with their usual "I'm fucking annoying and I'm proud of it " smug looks. Raina had taken a seat and went on her phone with her headphone on. Can't blame her for being anti social she's just a teenage girl.

"Dont be like that Mrs K we know we keep you young." Olivia smirks

"More like keeping her on her toes." Camilo says holding up Mrs Kinor keys to her snack drawer and made a run for it.

"Oh you little- forget it he can have at it" the old hag says but soon giving up. With a final roll of the eyes, she heads towards the kitchen to make them something. She wouldn't ever admit that they do keep her young and are the only source of fun in her life.

Whilst all that was happening, Lucas was quietly laughing as he watched the old lady and the two gremlins interact.

Simultaneously, Theodore came rushing towards the table.

"Emi I missed you so much!" Theodore exclaimed as he jumped on Emilio, giving him the biggest hug a seven year old could offer.

Theo's hugs were the best.

Emilio smiled, returning the same amount of love and enthusiasm in the hug.

"I missed you too baby. How have you been." He replied ignoring everyone. Who would have thought a seven year old would be good company..
