Life always teaches you a lesson

Present || Alfonzo

Feeling satisfied with our hard work, I nod at my twin to leave before we actually kill him. Derek lays on the floor of his house, a battered body with broken bones yet not a sound escapes him. Not even a whimper.

A low, dark chuckle breaks out as we leave, followed by a harsh cough," He's mine you know? I'll be back for him when you least expect it."

An overwhelming feeling of rage encompasses my body at his words and before I can stop to think, my foot is crushing his already bruised face.

Fingers wrapping around his throat, I harshly bring his face closer to mine, whispering menacingly into his ear,"  You're a worthless little shit and if I ever catch you around our family again," I pause, my fingers tightening around his throat painfully,"I'll make your death look like an accident."

His eyes begin to roll, making me sigh as I loosen my hold on his bruising neck.

"Our family? You hate Leo with everything inside your black heart. He's the real worthless one in your eyes." Derek's eyes gleam at me, his lips curving upwards.

"Alfonzo, don't do anything stupid." Alonzo warns, checking his watch," We need to leave, I want to check on Leo."

Rolling my eyes, I shove Derek to the floor. He gasps heavily but doesn't move to lift a hand to soothe his throat.

Not that he could.

"We'll be back to check on you so don't worry your little head about dying, see you tomorrow night!"

The door shuts with a thud as we make our way back to my car. It's dark exterior blends in well with our bleak surroundings.

Wincing, I throw my keys to Alonzo who casts me a confused glance.

"Why don't you want to drive?" He raises an eyebrow, crossing his arms over his chest.

"My hands you idiot." I raise my blood covered hands, a rather large gash mirrored on both.

"Fuck. What did you do?" He stalks towards me, taking my hands in his.

"The fuck you mean? We just beat that shithead's ass black and blue. He put up a fight in the car, even with two fucking broken wrists!" A scowl covers my face at my twin's stupidity.

Alonzo chuckles silently, seeming to find this situation funny.

"The fuck you laughing for?" If my hands weren't screaming in pain, he'd be rolling on the floor in agony.

"You deserve this and worse." He looks me hard in the eyes, lips thinned out in a straight line. Any traces of laughter have escaped his tone.

Rolling my eyes, I shrug him off, gesturing him to open the passenger door.

The drive back to our home is quiet until my twin's quiet voice breaks the awkward silence," You've never been that protective of Leo, when did you start seeing him as family?"

My silence seems to anger him," You're quiet now? You had to much to say to Leo in the past, you fucking abused him! And then you lose your temper when someone else hurts him?" He snarls, knuckles turning whiter every second he clutches the wheel tighter.

"I don't fucking know okay." I snap back, feeling a muscle beginning to tick in my jaw.

Alonzo slams the breaks and switches the ignition off, turning to face me with a hard glare.

"You know he'll never forgive you right?"

"Who said I wanted his forgiveness? Everything is his fault." I scoff, rolling my eyes.
