It's been a while, hasn't it?

Present || Alfonzo

"I don't know!" I groan for the fifth time, this annoying man won't stop with his stupid questions.

"You've clearly been acting different these few days, you even said hello to me Alfonzo. You've never once greeted me in all the time we've been together." He leans forward, brown eyes sparkling with mischief," Something clearly happened."

A small sigh escapes my lips, my mind wandering back to the last few days. A lot of shit has happened. Leo barely leaves his room, he's quiet as fuck and doesn't let anyone come near him not even Alonzo. It's both surprising and a relief he isn't starving himself. We're just thankful Dad decided not to send him to school just yet. As for his new doctor-

"You've started taking those pills haven't you?" His deep voice breaks my train of thought and I turn to him with a glare.

"And if I have?"

"I'm very proud of you if that's true." He muses before his tone gets colder, a hint of a warning present," You know you shouldn't take more than necessary right? You haven't been feeling any side effects or-"

"Thank you doctor but I'm fine. I'd know if something was wrong."

The room goes silent for a moment before he speaks up again quietly," Why have you decided to start taking them again? Did Alex-"

"I just decided to wake up." Is all I say, cutting him off again.

I stare at the blank wall behind him, refusing to meet his questioning eyes, I'm not in the mood to explain anything.

"I've told you this before but just in case you've forgotten, those pills won't give you long term treatment, if you truly want to get better, you need to start talking to me instead of showing up every month and sitting here doing nothing!"

"You're getting emotional again." I tilt my head, a small smirk playing on my lips.

He stands to his full height, stepping around the desk and standing before me a dark look etched on his features.

My body tenses as he raises his hand, surprise overcomes me as his cold, calloused hand gently pats my head.

"I'll see you next month." He walks around me, heading for the door.

"Wait." I call out, standing up and walking on shaky legs towards him.

He stills but doesn't turn to face me and I know he's pissed off, again.

"Talking isn't easy, especially for me. You know that!" His quietness only annoys me further, these fucking feels will be the death of me.

"Kane I'm sorry, I-I'm just going though a lot." I whisper out, my chest hurts with every word I speak.

"I know. You know where I am if you do decide to finally open up and talk to me." He shuts the door on his way out, leaving me alone in his cold office, my chest feeling heavy and wracked with guilt?

"Fuck."

*****

Music blasts through my ears as I walk out of the hospital, passing by people who look like they'd be better off dead, I hope Leo never looks like this.

My body stills as I notice the car parked right in front of the entrance to the hospital. The tinted window rolls down, his usual stoic expression painted onto his face," Get in."

Tucking my earphones into my pocket, I slam the door closed, rolling up the window.

"How was your session? Dr. Kane tells me you're not making any improvements. Do you want me to change your doctor?"
