Never have I dealt with anything more difficult than my own soul

Sucking in a deep breath, I placed my arm in the sink and turned on the tap. A cold, harsh stream of water began flowing over my cuts and I held myself back from whimpering at the pain. Grabbing a towel from the rack, I carefully wiped my arm dry, whimpering when I pressed down on a cut too hard. Little droplets of blood were still present but I paid no mind and tightly re-wrapped my wrist in the bandage. Using my hands with a cast wasn't as hard as I thought.
Maybe because it's not your first time wearing one.
My gaze drifted to the bloodied razor laying discarded on the crimson tiled floor. Sighing in annoyance, I soaked the towel in water before carefully kneeling down and cleaning the blood off the tile as best as I could.
Satisfied with the result, I threw the towel into a basket in the corner and made my way back into my bedroom. My eyebrows furrowed seeing one of my closet doors halfway open.
Was someone in here?
My question was answered when I opened both doors and my mouth dropped in shock. My closet was filled to the brim with all sorts of clothing and shoes. Limping closer towards the drawers, I tilted my head at the contents inside.
Silver watches, brackets and many accessories filled them to the brim. From earrings to silver chains, there wasn't a piece of jewellery that wasn't here. Everything screamed expensive and I felt guilty that he spent all of his money on this. Or rather, out father's money. Even so, I felt a flutter in my chest, a small smile overtaking my features, maybe because my favourite colour tended to be silver when it came to jewellery, not that I've had the luxury of wearing anything as dashing as the very things littering my closet. It's like he knew what my favourite colour was when it came to jewellery or maybe it was a lucky guess. How did I not notice when he bought all of this?
It explains why he was talking to one of the managers in a store in such a hushed voice. Maybe he planned it from there? Alonzo sure was a shopping maniac. Why did he have to buy me so much?
I closed the closet doors, not bothering to take a closer look at anything else and just picked out a simple oversized hoodie and sweatpants. This wasn't bought with my money, these things didn't belong to me and such luxury would be gone soon.
I didn't deserve any of this.
Quickly discarding my worn out clothes, I changed into the new ones, ignoring the urge to look at the mirror and belittle myself. It'll only hurt me more.
Glancing at the clock, it was almost seven in evening. Did nobody bother to wake me up? I would've thought that one of the maids might bother with bringing me food but I guess not.
You don't need to eat anyway, losing weight is a good thing. A familiar voice whispered.
If it were possible for my eyebrows to fall off, they would've by now. My face scrunched in confusion. I was fat?
Yes you are, have you seen the size of you lately?
That was the one thing I would not do.
Do it, it urged.
No.
Why not? It almost sounded like it was whining.
I don't want to, now leave me alone.
You can't-
Whatever the voice was going to say was completely ignored by me as the pounding on my bedroom door pulled me out of my thoughts. Almost on impulse, my back straightened and I clenched my fingers, ready to accept anything given to me.
