Present || Leonardo
Seven years later...
Leonardo POV
I limped to my dorm room, Teo beside me, worry etched in his features.
Opening the door with great difficulty, I landed on my bed with a sigh.
That beating really was the definition of brutal.
I got out the first aid kit under my bed and began taking out what I would need.
I cleaned the area around my leg and bandaged it well and took two painkillers before setting the box back underneath the bed.
I tired putting pressure onto my leg but immediately winced.
Who knew getting hit with a baseball bat could hurt so much?
This is what happens when you don't do our homework, is what Derek, my number one bully said.
I picked up the picture frame on my bedside drawer, staring at my mother's eyes.
If only she was here.
I wiped my teary eyes before setting it down, the intercom buzzing in my room.
I limped towards it and pressed the button.
"Leonardo Jones to the headmaster's office please."
My brows furrowed, why would he want to see me?
Teo just shrugged and said he'd come along.
I nodded at him and we walked out. My eyes anxiously looking around everywhere, hoping we didn't bump into anyone.
I passed by the secretary's office and she gave me a small smile," How are we today Leo?"
I gave her a small smile and a thumbs up.
Even though I've been here for seven years, I still can't overcome my fear of talking to people.
The fear of saying something wrong and getting into trouble again. Getting into trouble would just result in a beating and that was something I would gladly avoid.
Matteo just advised me to not say anything, that way people would leave me alone.
She frowned at my answer, clearly seeing the lie. Her gaze went to my bruised cheek and she sighed.
"Go on, he's waiting for you." She gave me a sad smile and continued on with her work.
I payed her no attention and knocked on the door.
A clear 'Come in,' could be heard and I hesitantly opened the door and walked inside.
Taking a seat on one of the chairs, I bounced my leg up and down in anxiety of what was to come.
"Leonardo," the voice of the headmaster rang out.
I lifted my head and eyed him warily.
He sighed before saying," You've been here since you were seven and we were very glad to have you here. You are a bright child after all."
Wait, were?
"Your father has decided he wants you back home, so you are to pack your belongings and say goodbye to any friends here. You will be leaving tomorrow. That is all." He waved his hand in a dismissive manner, signalling it was my queue to leave.
