The Royal Bodyguard

CHAPTER 1

                      Lorry's POV

    "Lorry Night, I grant you the honour of being the prince's royal Bodyguard. " The King roared out, loud enough for  everyone gathered here to hear.

     "Whaaa!" I gasped, shocked. I mean who won't be? This was supposed to be a normal day like any other. What I'm I hearing right now?

     "Yes, you may now come forward to receive your new title. " The King said with a wide smile, sitting on the royal thrown with the royal family by his side.

     I walked forward to the Royal family dazzled, I could hear the applause and murmurs from the side as I walked.

      The royal Hall was crowded with many people, aristocrats and knights. The knights assembled to make two straight lines leading to the King. Between them is a red carpet.

       One will think this was Hollywood or something. 'Hahaha,' I laughed nervously in my head, trying to find anything, I mean anything that can make me less anxious.

     'THIS IS NOT HOW THINGS WERE SUPPOSED TO TURN OUT!' I screamed as loudly as I could, furious in my head.

      Papa was at the side of the King, giving me an encouraging smile. I am not nervous about meeting the King or walking in front of all this people, though I don't like being around people, now I am more enrage with this situation than to notice the people around me Papa.

       I know that you most have been aware of this too! Why won't you? Your the captain of the knights directly under the King after all! I'm sure the King must have informed you before hand! You must have thought it will be a pleasant surprise right, Papa? Well then, sorry to burst your happy bubble, but no, it isn't?

     I reached the King still fuming, then got on my left knee with my right hand around my abdomen and my left hand at my back, head slightly bent, standard position for when receiving anything from the King as he stood in front of me, making everyone to quite fown in respect.

       "Lorry Night, many knights are fighting for this position...." 'then why didn't you give them instead? I know they'll be more happy to receive it than me!

     "But, with the consideration of all that you have achieved in the war that passed and the ones before, I give you the honour of being the prince's royal Bodyguard. " The King said, tapping his sword on both my shoulders.

      "You may now rise to collect your badge and metal!"

      I stood up and was handed my badge and metal.

       "You should be honoured Lorry Night, you have done much for this kingdom." The King said with smiles. "So much that I almost couldn't think of what to give you anymore!" He shook his head, like having a headache just thinking about it.

       'Then you could have given me gold, just like how you always did!' I yelled inwardly.

      Seeing my obvious proclamations, the King said, "Yes I know that hold would have been nice but I wanted to give you something that will last longer.  So I asked you father, my royal knights, for advise."

     Seee, I knew Papa was involved in this! I gave me a hard sharp glare which he  avoided by looking somewhere else. 'Oh you'll see, Papa, the time to face you will come!'

      "And luckily, he was able to gone up with such a brilliant idea just in time!" The King laughed out loud with a clap of his hand.

        "...or don't you like it, Lorry Night?" He said darkly. 'Sheesh, I can feel the gloom in hus words.'

      "No your Highness, I'm grateful as always." I hurriedly say, he seems to be satisfied.

       "Then that's good to here!" He said brightly. 'What mastery you have your Highness!'

       "You may now return to your previous position. "He ordered.

       I walked down the path again, I can still here the silent talks from the ladies. Most of them are unhappy about it and saying that I didn't deserve it. 'Oh my, you think I see this as an honour? This is more like I punishment if you ask me!'

      Leaving that aside, I looked around the knights. The males were dressed in their knightly suites of light blue shirt and night and dark blue trousers. It's the same for the girls but instead of  trousers, it's a skirt.

          Oh who I'm I kidding, I'm the only female here in this batch!

            Aigo! I should really stop my complaining and arguing today. Even though I don't like it, I know that it's really is an honour worth enjoying. And on the bright side, the pay is also generous!

        "Now!" The King roared ones I had stood back in line, "Let us go prepare ourselves for the banquet to come in the evening!"

       'Great! Just enough time to have a little chat with Papa!'

      Everyone got up and started making their way out of the hall.
