"Well, technically not an adventure more like work but outside the kingdom."
Aaron explained seeing my shocked expression. He took a cookie from my plate and are it.
"Sheesh! You got me all hopeful there! I was beginning to imagine a fairy tale adventure!" I said honestly feeling down.
"Hahaha! And here I was, thinking that you don't have a girly side!"
Aaron exaggerated looking like a relieved mother hen.
"Hey! Anyways, back to topic. Will it be all right for the Prince to travel during this time?!" I asked concerned.
Even though we came out victorious during this times war, things haven't settled down completely yet.
"Don't worry about that! We will be going to a nearby kingdom that we have an alliance with." Aaron explained seeing my concerns.
"But due to what you just said, we won't be able to get additional help from the royal guards or knights."
"What! That can't be! I know we have an alliance with the kingdom but they could be thieves wandering in forests that joins the two Kingdom!"
I asked baffled. We are talking about the print of the kingdom and not anyone else!
"I know and understand your points but, we can only get two guards at most! We can't delay the meeting between the two kingdoms. Austin is also aware of it. It's his decision."
Aaron said looking hopeless. He most have tried his best to get more escorts but was stopped by the Prince.
"All right, don't worry! You have me tagging along after all! Hahaha!" I jested, trying to comfort him.
After that, we all got what we would be needing and prepared ourselves for the journey.
...
"Ahhh! That took longer than I thought!" Mikey said as he stretched himself.
"You shouldn't be so carefree yet, there's still a long way to go before we get home." Emma lectured him.
"Why are you always uptight Emma?!" Mikey asked with a smile.
"Why are you so carefree in every situation? Are you really a Knight?" Emma asked back.
"Hey! I'll have you know, I'm a top of the line knight! And with me always being stuck alongside you, I have to find something fun and carefree to do before I also become depressing like you!" Mikey argued back.
...
We were now heading back from out journey. Surprisingly, it only took half a day to get things done. Austin wanted to get things done fast.
We all got worked to the bone but we were finally able to finish up and head back on time.
Judging by the speed we are moving now, we will be back at our kingdom by sunset.
Mikey and Emma were the other two royal knights that were assigned to the Prince.
The two took up the rear, Aaron and Austin were at the centre leaving the front to me.
We have been walking this parts but there seem to be no signs of thieves or anything strange.
That's odd. After all, I did my research before we headed here and this part was beaming with thieves a few months ago.
Did they fled during the war? Were they taken down by one of the two kingdoms?
I'm not sure but one thing is certain; there's definitely something fishy going on here!
It's too quiet. Not a single bird flying around or chirping, nor a single snake or lizard around.
They rest must have also come to the same conclusion seeing that Mikey and Emma are talking.
Probably trying to throw the enemy off track and make them think we don't have our guards up.
'Ahh! It seems our bait has been grapped!'
