The three of us used to be the closest of friends. We were technically inseparable or so I thought.
Third Person POV
Four Years Ago ¤¤¤
"What's taking Austin so long!"
Twelve-year-old Lorry complained as her and Mallory waited for Austin in the waiting room located in the Palace.
"Ara ara! Don't shout so much or you'll scare the maid!"
Twelve-year-old Mallory scolded her as she took a hold of one of the snack they were given.
"But Austin is taking way too much time! This always happens! I wish Lillian was here!"
Lorry continued to complain. Princess Lillian was sent to a different part of the kingdom for training.
"Shuush! Do you want to get lectured by the head maid on 'How a Lady should act' by the head maid again?!" Mallory threatened.
Lorry got scared by the mention of the head maid and kept quite.
"If she starts then there's no way we are going to go out and play today!"
Lorry said as she covered her mouth with her palms.
"Yeah!" Mallory agreed, they both ate their snack and waited for Prince Austin.
Actually, the head maid isn't a horrible woman. She just sticks with the rules and wish the best for the children.
...
"Sorry! I was late! I had an extra lesson that I couldn't shake off no matter what I did!" Austin said as he ran towards them.
"Your still late though!" Lorry said not letting it go.
"I brought you your favourite chocolate chip cookie!"
Austin said as he took a bag of chocolate chip cookie that he was hiding from his back.
"Alls well that ends well then!" Lorry said as she happily got the cookies from him.
"I'll say this again, this is definitely bribery!"
Mallory said with a smile from the side seeing the regular exchange between the two.
"What?! If your thinking about getting a cookie, then this isn't enough to share!"
Lorry said holding the bag of cookie defensively.
"Hold your horses Lor! I don't want yours!"
Mallory said almost laughing because of Lorry's reaction.
"There's also no need for that! Because... I also brought you one Mal! I got one for all of us!"
Austin said as he took out the remaining two bags.
"Hahaha! Smart!" Lorry said and they all headed out to play.
This was the last time that the three of them got together again.
...
The next week, Lorry and mallwte at it again. The two were in the waiting room awaiting Austin.
"I'm telling you! Austin really wants to get in on my bad side! He's late yet again!"
Lorry complained as Mallory continued to try and calm her down.
Yes, the Prince used to be late, but he was never more than half an hour late!
30 minutes since the came later, the Prince walked in their direction.
"Austin! You really are getting too used to this!" Lorry as as soon as she saw him.
"I'm sorry I'm late! Can we go now?!"
Austin asked unlike his usual self then walked forward. Mallory and Lorry looked at him seriously.
"Hey!... Did something happen?!" Lorry asked as the both followed him.
Seeing him with an angered expression, the two got worried but he didn't say a thing and walked.
...
The three of them played like usual. Austin refused to say a thing even though the two asked him adamantly.
One thing was for sure though, that was, he had no interest in playing and was almost starting to play harshly!
"Hey Austin! I think we should take a break, don't you?!"
Mallory asked trying to hold the pain in her palms caused by receiving the ball from Austin.
The three were playing volley ball. Austin didn't answer and just went to the bench at the side and grab his water bottle to drink.
Mallory sighed in relieve seeing him agree she looked at her almost red palm again.
"Are you OK?!" Lorry asked when she went closer to Mallory.
She had felt that Austin had been hitting the ball strongly for a while now but didn't say anything because Mallory didn't look like she was having any trouble.
