Dedicated to @Lexica45 because wattpad's a bitch but you're cool
I'll be your friend,
your other brother,
another love to come and comfort you,
And I'll keep reminding,
If it's the only thing I ever do,
I will always love,
I will always love you-Song for a friend // Jazon Mraz
As Rio and Ashton made their way to lunch, later that day, Ashton heard a semi-familiar voice calling his name. He stopped, turned, and smiled when he saw who it was.
"Calum?" He said "How are you?" Because I-didn't-actually-know-you-came-to-my-school sounded a bit rude. As afore mentioned, Ashton just didn't pay attention to these kinds of things.
"I'm good man, you?" Calum responded, once he had come close enough to Ashton to communicate with him, without having to shout across the cafeteria.
"I'm okay" Ashton answered. His eyes darted around the lunch hall "Where's Michael?" He asked, then suddenly felt stupid. What if Michael didn't even go to their school? Oh god, why didn't he know the people who attended his own school?
"He's coming" Came Calum's reply, much to Ashton's relief "He was just talking to Luke"
Luke? Ashton nearly jumped out of his own skin. Oh god, not that Luke. Please not Luke. Not his neighbour- his thoughts were cut off by two blondes walking into the hall- one with that huge fringe and bleached look, whilst the other's was quiffed and natural looking. oh god.
"Michael!" Calum yelled, before Ashton could stop him "Look who I found! I told you he looks familiar."
Michael looked towards Calum, and then at Ashton a look of recognition crossing his face. However, Calum's yell had also caught the attention of Luke, who was following Michael stiffly, as he made his way over,
"Hey" Michael grinned, absolutely oblivious "Ashton, right?"
Ashton nodded, replying with a small 'hello'
"Luke" Calum spoke, before Ashton could run and hide for maybe forever "This is Ashton, we met him a-"
"Oh, so that's your name." Luke spoke, cutting off his friend "I loved how my mum told you my name, when I didn't even know yours." Ashton said nothing, almost tasting the sarcasm that was leaking in Luke's voice "You know" Luke went on "It's kinda creepy for someone to know your name, without you knowing theirs. Especially, if it's someone you've never met before. But do you know what's creepier? Having someone spy on you and your family. That's pretty creepy, don't you think Ashton?"
Ashton remained silent, not trusting himself to speak. I wasn't spying! He wanted to yell I'm not a creep! I didn't do anything wrong! But instead he said nothing, but watched silently as Luke walked away, dragging a confused Calum and Michael with him.
Ashton sat across his green-haired-friend, who had been eyeing him suspiciously, ever since Calum had yelled his name, when they first walked in for lunch.
"What the hell was that all about?" Rio asked, picking out bits of turkey from his sandwich. Although he came across as a punk-looking-biker-dude, Rio was actually a strict vegetarian, who loved animals- and none other than Ashton and his family knew about this.
Ashton sighed as he began to tell him the story of how he had been caught watching his neighbours, although he never meant it in a creepy way whatsoever, and now after three and a half days of living next to someone new, they hated him.
"And I don't know why" Ashton muttered, as the two boys took their books from their adjacent lockers "I don't know why he's making such a big deal out of it." Ashton continued "Like it's not as if I was planning to attack them, I was just watching them play cricket. Is that so bad?"
