Don't lie, bright eyes,
It'll always be you and me,
so why are we dreaming alone?

"Good morning" Ashton turned around to face a very red-eyed looking Luke, hair tousled and face a little pale- showing obvious sleep deprivation. They hadn't gotten home extremely late last night, but Ashton could hear the blonde boy in the room next door, tossing and turning and constantly thrashing out. He'd had half a mind to go and try and calm the boy, but he didn't. Looking at him now, Ashton wished he had.

"Morning" He replied, turning back to his breakfast. Despite their previous situation, Ashton figured it would be cruel to be rude towards Luke. He hadn't forgiven him, not entirely, but he had realised a few things. For example: Luke Hemmings still managed to look good in the morning, even if it meant looking like he'd been hit by a car. Ashton decided to stop thinking after his mind established that thought.

"How are you feeling?" He asked instead, still keeping his back to the taller boy. He wasn't ready to show off the blush in his cheeks just yet,

"O-okay."

"Think you can face school?"

Luke laughed slightly, although it was definitely forced and held blatant nervousness.

"Yeah, I don't really want to explain things to my mum..."There was a pause, in which Ashton felt Luke walk closer until he was standing directly behind him. "Thanks for yesterday night."

Luke reached out a hand, maybe for a hug, or maybe just a touch, but Ashton didn't feel like finding out his intentions- so he flinched, and like that- the moment was gone.

"It was nothing" He muttered, before dumping his stuff in the sink and rushing upstairs.

Luke Hemmings could fuck off.

"Woah!" Ashton managed to reel straight into Jack as he burst into the room- definitely not trying to run away from a certain blonde boy.

"Sorry" The shorter boy mumbled, watching sheepishly as Jack rubbed the sore spot on his forehead. "I didn't mean to hit you- I didn't even know you were awake"

"Don't worry about it" Jack managed a chuckle, before he finally looked at Ashton properly "What's got you so worked up? And where did you and Luke go halfway through the night?"

Ashton's eyes bulged,

"What?"

"Bro, we share a room" Jack laughed, still rubbing at his forehead "I heard you sneak back in at like two in the morning."

Two forty five.

"He uh- he went to a party" Ashton decided that saying the truth was the best way to go "And he needed picking up- I accidentally answered your phone, and yeah"

Jack raised an eyebrow,

"So you just went to pick him up from a party?"

"Yes."

"Nothing else happened?"

"Nothing."

Jack didn't look entirely convinced, but he nodded anyway, before cracking a grin,

"If this bruises, then I will personally kick you out of my room"

Ashton managed a small smile.

Going to school and seeing Rio was probably the highlight of Ashton's morning. Maybe because it was the only normal thing that took place that morning, but either way, Ashton couldn't have been more grateful. It was easier to forget blond boys with blue eyes, whilst his best friend rambled about bleached boys with green eyes.
