And that's why I smile,
It's been a while,
since every day and everything,
has felt this right

"Ash!" Ashton stopped in his tracks, and spun around to face an out of breath Luke, although a shaky smile was plastered onto his face. Ashton couldn't help but grin back,

"Hey" He laughed, waiting for the blonde boy to catch up with him before he continued walking, "I feel like I haven't seen you in ages"

The fact that the boys lived next door to each other would make people think that they saw each other a lot, but that really wasn't the case. After spending a whole three weeks inside Luke's home, where Ashton would see him pretty much every hour, it was weird to only come across the boy a couple of times in the school hallways. And, seeing as Ashton still spent most of his after-school-hours at Rio's, they didn't even bump into each other at the 4 O clock time.

But today, Rio had insisted that Ashton go home, because a certain someone (definitely Michael) was coming over to cuddle and eat and maybe fuck, so Ashton had been kicked out.

"Yeah I sort of missed you" Luke paused "Sort of."

Ashton rolled his eyes and nudged the blonde boy who barked out a laugh, before simply grinning,

"So, what's it like not sharing a room any more?"

The shorter boy shrugged, fiddling with the strap of his school bag, obviously about to make a confession,

"Well, it is kind of lonely" He admitted "But, I like to get dressed knowing that there's no chance my roommate will barge in any second"

Luke blushed bright red, an embarrassed laugh leaving his mouth this time,

"Anyway," He attempted to swivel the question "We should uh- we should go on a date." He blurted out.

Ashton froze, mouth pretty much gaping open,

"A date?"

"Yes!" The blonde insisted, as he took a grab for Ashton's hand. Ashton ignored the currents that buzzed through his fingers "A date" Luke repeated "So we can, you know, make ourselves official or something."

Ashton nodded slowly, because well, he himself was still pretty confused regarding what they were and where they stood,

"Okay, a date"

Luke nodded back, before the two boys started walking again- and Ashton noticed how the taller boy didn't release his hand for the rest of the walk.

"You look nice" Ann commented as her eldest song made his way down the stairs. Ashton froze, obviously forgetting that oh yes, he lives with his family, and oh no, they often questioned his every action.

"Yeah, I'm uh- going out"

"A date?"

Ashton was about to confirm his mother's suspicions when he realised that Luke wasn't out to anyone yet. He decided it wasn't fair to speak until Luke did,

"Uh- no. Just hanging out with Luke"

Ann nodded, a knowing smile gracing her features,

"I'm glad you boys are finally getting along"

Luke Hemmings arrived outside Ashton's house at exactly half past six, dressed in tight jeans and a white shirt, the word DEAD, across his chest, as well as a silver chain dangling from his neck. He smiled brightly when he saw the shorter boy, and giggled a little,
