Don't waste your time on me,
you're already,
the voice inside my head
(I miss you)
-I miss you // Blink-182
Luke was confused (again). He was puzzled, and a bit lost because Ashton had been at Rio's for just over twenty four hours, and Luke was beginning to miss him. Not only that, but when Ashton had stormed out the house like that, Luke was worried for his roommate. Ashton didn't know his way around the new neighbourhood, aside from the way to school and the local park. He had brushed all this worry off however, and spent the day with Michael and Calum, playing stupid videogames that he didn't even like, to keep his mind off the wandering boy with hazel eyes. He knew his friends had noticed his lack of enthusiasm and distressed mood, but was grateful that they didn't comment or enquire regarding it. Nevertheless, there were a few raised eyebrows when he said he wasn't going to stay for dinner, simply because his mind was racing with nothing but AshtonAshtonAshton instead of the violent human-eating zombies on Michael's TV screen.
Luke had been relieved when he got home and finally mustered up the courage to ask Mrs Irwin where the heck her son was (not in those particular words, of course)
And now, on Sunday afternoon, with a stomach full of pizza and a mind filled with thoughts of a certain sandy-haired boy, Luke realised he'd fucked up. It wasn't like he hadn't fucked up before, because Luke could definitely name at least a couple of them in under thirty seconds- but he didn't think he'd quite royally fucked up ever before, as he had now. In fact, if the circumstances weren't so serious, then he'd probably be somewhat proud of how veritably he'd managed to mess things up. But, he couldn't even bring himself to do that, because now he was moping, and well, Luke Hemmings never moped. He wasn't even sure why he'd picked Grace, of all the girls in the school he'd decided to pick the blondest girl with the bluest eyes, and the longest lashes and the most pristine face. Of course Ashton was jealous, because not even seventy two hours ago, they were kissing each other, and now he was kissing some gorgeous girl, whose name he'd only learnt about ten minutes before shoving his tongue down her throat. He didn't even have a reasonable explanation, although his mind kept forming this nonsense of how dating a girl could maybe turn him straight (which was ridiculous, he knew it was, but it was reassuring to have an excuse in his head, albeit it be a farcical one.)
Even so, he knew his behaviour wouldn't go unnoticed, because at exactly two pm, on that Sunday, his brother Jack walked in, a serious expression on his face, that Luke almost didn't recognise, because when ever was Jack Hemmings a serious person?
"Where's your girlfriend?" He said immediately, and something bizarre in Luke's mind flashed for a second, as he thought he was talking about Ashton.
"Who?" Luke asked puzzled, and his brother sighed, sitting himself on Ashton's unoccupied bed,
"That girl who you were making out with on Friday, after school?"
"Oh, Grace." The younger boy informed "She's uh- not sure."
Jack raised an eyebrow,
"Aren't you going to like, hang out with her? I mean, you just got together like two days ago-"
"I'm trying to play it cool" Luke smirked, although he knew his brother could see right through him, however, he dropped the topic anyway.
"And where's Ashton?"
"At his mate's" He shrugged, as if he totally had not been thinking about the boy for the past twenty four hours.
"Do you miss him?" Jack asked, making Luke look up curiously,
