NOTE:
I literally just realized that all of my other drawings for the past seven or so chapters have not been shown. WHAT??? What is wrong??? So uh, have it in the chapter itself instead of up above despite the fact I don't like doing that :(
Ah, and also, check the seven or so past chapters, there are drawings in there!)

The air was heavy. Sun's breath came in labored and fast, hyperventilating as the fog of their breath coated in front of their face.

They wanted to believe that, maybe, the silence was the fact you defeated their owner. That, somehow, you had beat up his massive form. It didn't explain why you weren't answering their calls of your name, the letters bouncing on their tongue heavily, but they wanted to believe that that was because of some reason or another.

Maybe you had tired yourself so much you couldn't answer, or maybe their voice wasn't loud enough to be heard—so, they called louder, your name carried by the freezing wind and snow falling from the sky like powder.

Sun swallowed bitterly, feeling a cry get stuck in his throat.

He finally forced himself to step out from the shield of the car. The silence ate at their edges, cutting away at their nerves like a sharp sword. He didn't know what he was seeing in the distance—he was expecting the worst and hoping for the best.

And he can see, but he couldn't really understand what he was seeing. His mind fell into denial, it urged them to get closer—it can't be the scene they were looking at, their eyes must be playing tricks on them! Because, after all, they weren't actually able to see well in the first place.

Everything was so white—so bright. It was like being in a dark room and then suddenly turning the lights on, except, for them, their eyes didn't adjust to the changes. So, they kept limping closer.

Their owner could be seen—his figure too big to be ignored.

You weren't. You weren't where they last remember you standing at. You weren't in their line of sight and Sun didn't want to believe what the thing on the ground was. A small part of them knew exactly what—who—but they couldn't believe it.

Perhaps you ran away? Left to get help?

Left them...? But you wouldn't do that, would you? Maybe you thought they had gotten away and took your chance to do so too.

Their focus wasn't on their owner no matter how much they wanted to keep him in sight.

They pressed on with denial heavy on their shoulders—hoping and praying that their dark thoughts weren't actually real. It circled them like a shark ready to launch, to sink its sharp teeth in what remained of them—to swallow up their fragile thoughts and feelings, eat them up, and leave nothing to the fishes.
