Daryl's POV

3 years later

We have been on the run for a while. Trying to survive throughout the cold winter days. We have stuck with eachother ever since the beginning, some of us at least.

It all started when I lost her. Amber, my daughter. Merle and I went and looked for her for a few months until we were finally convinced ourselves that she was indeed, dead. After that we just drifted, hoping for the best.

We then found ourselves at this camp with a few other people. This cop named Shane Walsh, this guy named Jim, a women named Jaqui, the Morales family, A women named Lori, and her son Carl, the Peteleir family, sisters, Andrea and Amy, T-Dog, an old man named Dale, an Asian guy named Glenn, and a few others I didn't quite pay attention too. Not long after, I lost Merle too. He went on a run but never came back, except they brought back another survivor.

Rick Grimes was his name, he reunited with his family. Lori and the Carl kid. Even though I knew she was dead, every time there are new survivors being brought back, I always wished Amber would show up.

Pretty soon the camp got over run and we lost Jim and Ed, father of the Peteleir family, so we moved to the CDC. This scientists who goes by the name Dr. Jenner turned out to be a wackjob and burned the building down so we lost Jaqui. We moved again until we lost Sophia, daughter of Carol Peteleir. Not long after that, we found out that Carl got shot.

We soon found ourselves at a farm, with a few other survivors. Hershel, Maggie, Beth, Jimmy, Patrica, and this guy named Otis. After awhile the farm got over run and now we are just on the run. Going nowhere in particular, just surviving somehow. We were on the roads when Rick decided to stop and see where we should go next.

"Fifteen, you're point." Rick said towards Carl. He then made his way over to where I, Maggie, T-Dog, and Hershel stood, looking down at a map.

"We've got no place to go." T-Dog said.

"When this herd meets up with this one, we'll cut off, we'll never make it south." Maggie said, pointing down to the map.

"What do you say, it's about 150 head?" I suggested.

"That was last week, could have twice that by now." Glenn said, turning over his shoulder to look at us. The others soon began to discuss more into dept but in the end, we were completely blocked. Pretty soon, they all decided to take a rest, so I took the chance to go hunting.

"Hey, while the others wash their panties, let's go hunt. That owl didn't exactly hit the spot." I said towards Rick, loading up my crossbow. He agrees and we were off. We had been walking a while until Rick asked me a surprising question.

"Do you miss her?"

"Who?" I asked, pretending I didn't know who he was talking about.

"Your daughter?" He continued. I didn't speak for a few moments when I finally answered.

"I don't even know. She was just gone." He nodded and we went on in silence. Pretty soon we followed a train track to and open field. And there lied a prison surrounded by walkers.

"That's a shame." I said, stopping once I got a complete view of the place. I looked over at Rick and I knew he had an idea in his head, with the smirk that appeared on his face. He turned to me with the same smirk.

"No. No it's not." With that said he rushed off in the direction we came from with me not long behind.

Rick's POV

As Daryl and I were hunting, we came across and abandoned prison. I had managed to convince everyone to come with me to the prison, and they all agreed.

I rushed to one of the fences and cut them with pliers while Glenn and Maggie take watch for walkers.

"Watch the backside!" I yelled as I got the fence to open.

"Got it!" Lori yelled as I let everyone go through the hole in the fence. I quickly looked around for anyone left.

"Hurry! Hurry!" I said towards T-Dog. Once I made it inside myself, Daryl and Glenn hurried and wired the fence back together. We all ran as the walkers approached the fence, trying to reach us. Daryl opened a door that lead to the front gate. When we all entered, I finally got a full view of the walker infested prison.

"It's perfect." I said, eyeing the building.

"If we can shut that gate, prevent more from filling the yard, we can pick these walkers. We'll take the field by tonight" I continued pointing at the direction of the fence I was talking about.

"So how do we shut the gate?" Hershel asked.

"I'll do it. You guys cover me." Glenn suggested.

"No, it's a suicide run." Maggie protested.

"I'm the fastest." He spoke back.

"No. You, Maggie and Beth draw as many as you can over there." I said as I pointed at the direcrion I was talking about.

"Pop them through the fence." Earning a nodd from all 3 of them, they ran off and did as I asked. I turned over to Daryl and Carol.

"Daryl, go back to the other tower. Carol, you've become a pretty good shot. Take your time, we don't have alot of ammo to waste." Again earning a nodd from both, they went off. I then turned over to Carl and Hershel.

"Hershel, you and Carl take this tower." They did as asked and moved over to the tower next to us.

"I'll run for the gate." I said. I gave Lori a quick glance as she pulled the fence gate open. I ran as fast as I could towards the fence, taking down every walker that got in my way. A shot was fired and landed near my foot. I looked up to find it had belonged to Carol.

She shouted an apology and went on with what she was doing before. I eventually made it to the open gate and shut it. Locking it with 2 hooks. I happened to draw walkers, and thought quick, rushing towards the tower closest to me. Shooting the walkers inside first before shutting the door on the walkers. I made it to the top of the tower and watched as everyone shot down a walker with bright faces.

I then shot the last one fill owed by my own smile.

"We did it." I thought as I lowered the gun and walked back down the tower to meet everyone.

"Oh! Oh! Oh! We haven't had this much space since the farm!" I heard Carol say as she made it up the courtyard. I turned to hear T-Dog laugh and shout in happiness.

"WOOOOOOO!"
