Chapter Nineteen:
A few days later, as (Y/N) was walking down the hallways of the Butterfly Mansion, thinking that today was just another typical day, Aoi, one of the helpers at the Butterfly Mansion, called out to her when she saw her.
"(Y/N)!" Aoi called, hurrying over. "I’ve been looking for you all over the mansion. Shinobu has asking for you since earlier today."
(Y/N) frowned slightly, curiosity piqued. "What’s the problem? Did she say why she needed to see me?"
Aoi shook her head. "No, she didn’t say anything specific. Just that you should go to her office and it's urgent."
Feeling a bit nervous and questioning what this could be about, (Y/N) nevertheless nodded. "Alright, thank you, Aoi. I’ll head there right now."
As they walked together towards Shinobu’s office, (Y/N) couldn’t shake the sense of unease that was growing within her. She wondered if this had anything to do with the recent incidents that had left her feeling framed and targeted.
Upon entering Shinobu’s office, (Y/N) immediately noticed the slight disappointment in Shinobu’s eyes. It was subtle, but it was there, and it made her heart sink a little.
"Hello, (Y/N)! Please, take a seat," Shinobu said, gesturing to a chair across from her desk. "We’ll discuss some things over tea."
(Y/N) sat down, her nerves getting the better of her. "Is everything alright, Shinobu?"
Shinobu poured them both tea, her movements graceful and calm. "There have been some concerning events around the mansion recently. Items have gone missing, and certain issues have arisen that seem to point in your direction."
(Y/N) felt a lump form in her throat. "I... I don’t know anything about that. I swear, I haven’t done anything wrong."
Shinobu handed (Y/N) a cup of tea and took a sip from her own. "I want to believe you, (Y/N). However, we need to address these issues seriously. Recently, someone informed me that you apparently stole one of the experimental medications I was working on. I went and looked for that medication, and sure enough, it was gone, along with the notes I wrote for it."
(Y/N)'s eyes widened in shock. "I didn’t take it! I wouldn’t even know where to find it!"
Shinobu sighed, her expression one of deep contemplation. "I understand, (Y/N). But the fact remains that the medication and notes are missing, and someone is pointing the finger at you."
(Y/N) felt a mix of frustration and helplessness. "I’ve noticed things too, but I don’t know who’s behind it. It feels like someone is trying to frame me, but I haven’t been able to figure out who or why."
Shinobu sighed deeply, her fingers drumming lightly on the table. "We need to get to the bottom of this, (Y/N). The person who told me you stole the medication seemed very believable."
