Chapter Thirty Three:
The sun slowly started rising, casting a warm, golden hue over the room. Giyu knew that it was time for him to say goodbye.
He woke up to (Y/N) clutching him so tightly that he was afraid she wouldn't let him go.
He nudged (Y/N) gently and asked her to let him go, but then he realized from the soft snoring sounds that she was still asleep.
He sighed, a small sad smile on his face.
Giyu began peppering kisses on her face to wake her up, whispering her name between each kiss. "(Y/N)... wake up... (Y/N)... Dewdrop..."
Eventually, (Y/N)'s eyes fluttered open, revealing a longing and sadness that tugged at Giyu's heart.
She sighed deeply, her voice tinged with desperation. "Giyu, you shouldn't go. You don't have to go. Stay here with us, please."
Giyu smiled at her again, his eyes gleaming with sadness as he shook his head. "I wish I could, but if we want to defeat the very threat to humanity, the reason why Kyojuro Rengoku died, then I have to be there to fight."
(Y/N) looked at him, tears welling up in her eyes. "But what if you don't come back?" she whispered, her voice breaking.
Giyu paused, leaning in to plant a soft kiss on (Y/N)'s lips. "I'm going to fight for you, for Kyojuro, and for myself. I promise I'll do everything in my power to come back."
Tears spilled down (Y/N)'s cheeks as she nodded, understanding the gravity of his words. "Just... be careful, Giyu. We need you."
Giyu held her close, his heart heavy with the weight of their parting. "I will. I promise."
Giyu then sat up from the bed, the morning light casting a soft glow on his face. He turned to (Y/N), concern etched in his eyes. "Did you tell Kijuro and Hinoko about my mission?" he asked softly.
(Y/N) shook her head, her expression weary but resolute. "No, I didn't want to worry the kids. If you encounter them this morning, just tell them you're finally permitted to accept missions and that's why you're going away."
Giyu nodded, understanding the weight of her decision. "Alright," he said, standing up from the bed. He looked down at (Y/N), a mixture of sadness and determination in his gaze. "I'm going to get ready before my Kasugai crow comes."
(Y/N) watched him for a moment, her heart heavy with the impending separation. "Giyu," she called softly, causing him to pause and turn back to her. "Don't make us worry too much."
He gave her a reassuring smile, though the sorrow in his eyes was unmistakable. "I wont. I'll be back, I promise." he promised.
Then, with a lingering look, he walked out of the room to prepare for his mission, leaving (Y/N) to gather her thoughts and strength for the day ahead.
