Chapter Twenty Four:
The next day rolled by, and Giyu was woken up by one of the workers of the Butterfly Mansion. Beside that worker stood (Y/N) and Shinobu, both beaming down at him.
"Good morning, Giyu," Shinobu greeted him warmly. "Congratulations! You're fully healed and discharged. You’re ready for a week's rest, and after that, you can return to being a full-time demon slayer."
Giyu nodded to Shinobu, gratitude clear in his eyes. "Thank you, Shinobu. I appreciate everything you've done for me."
Shinobu smiled. "It was my pleasure, Giyu. You've made remarkable progress."
Turning to (Y/N), Giyu's expression softened. "Thank you, (Y/N), for aiding me in my recovery. I couldn't have done it without you."
(Y/N) returned his smile, her eyes bright with pride. "It was an honor to help, Giyu. You've worked hard, and I'm glad to see you back on your feet."
Feeling a rush of excitement, Giyu took (Y/N)'s hand in his. "So, can we have our date now?" he asked, his voice brimming with enthusiasm.
From a distance, Shinobu coughed in surprise, while (Y/N) blushed furiously. She leaned closer to Giyu, whisper-yelling and stammering, "Giyu, you should go home first and rest. You've had a long night."
Giyu chuckled, squeezing her hand gently. "Alright, alright. But I’m holding you to that date," he teased.
Shinobu, still within earshot, smiled knowingly and walked away, leaving (Y/N) and Giyu to their moment.
(Y/N) glanced around nervously before meeting Giyu’s gaze again, her cheeks still flushed.
"Promise me you'll rest," she insisted softly.
"I promise," Giyu replied, his tone sincere. "But only if you promise to meet me for that date."
(Y/N) laughed, shaking her head. "Fine, I promise. Now go and get some rest."
Giyu nodded, finally letting go of her hand. "See you soon, then."
As (Y/N) watched him leave, her heart raced with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. Life was changing, and for the first time in a long while, it felt like it was changing for the better.
As for Giyu, he was enthusiastic, and there was a noticeable spring in his step as he walked to his estate.
Along the way, he happened upon Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke, who were yapping to each other animatedly.
Tanjiro was the first to notice him, and he greeted Giyu with a warm smile.
"Giyu-san, Hello! You look happier than usual. I can smell that you're feeling super enthusiastic today!" Tanjiro observed, his eyes twinkling with curiosity.
Giyu didn't hide the blush that spread across his face, but he did avert Tanjiro's gaze as a small smile lifted his lips. "I'm elated today," he admitted, "because I have things planned."
