Ok for context it's your generic isekai story but- Ah screw it you'll see.

(Y/n) POV

Solider: "Artillery!"

I hid behind a rock hearing the sounds of the monsters dying from the explosions. I peek over seeing one of the monsters dart through the battlefield as I draw my rifle and fire landing the shot into the creatures head making it drop with the rest of its monstrous kin.

"Sir! We're losing ground we can barely stop them from moving! If we lose this hill then we have no chance of protecting the people!"

General: "Which is why we'll be retreating. It's no point to save the people."

"What?! Leaving those people to fend for themselves?!"

General: "We were unprepared to start a war and look at us! Shoulder to shoulder with our former enemies to fight this onslaught!"

"Sir if I may. We have enough explosives to create a blockade!"

General: "Out of the question! We're abandoning this post! And that's fina-"

A large crashing sound was heard as the pale white creature darted into the building and bit itself into the generals head as he screamed for help trying to pry the thing off of him seemingly absorbing his head as I aim my rifle up and turn my head and fire a single round.

Solider: "Sir?"

I turn to see the rest of the soldiers looking at me and I could tell what they were all thinking.

"I have an idea."

Around a table I take a map out of the region with marks on it showing where the creatures are and movement.

"The pale ones are coming from the tunnel northeast of here. If we use the explosives we have at our disposal we can bring down the cliff side to bide our time."

Sarah: "For who?"

"The cavalry...there's no upper command anymore here and no communications whatsoever so someone will have to take a vehicle and drive the five miles back to call in bombers."

Sarah: "But sir if I may. We only have enough people and most of them aren't willing to go into the dead man land."

"Which is why only Blake, You, and I are going."

Sarah: "What why him? He's-"

"Sarah. He's the only demolitions expert and your the best marksman we have. If we can get past the horde then we can set the explosives and detonate them closing it and allowing the bombs to finish the job. If that's all. I want the rest of you to siphon all the fuel and get it to the only vehicle and send four of your own to relay the messages. Sarah get Blake and get our thermal charges."

The rest nodded and left the building as I rubbed my head together as time was ticking and wasn't in our favor.

After sending the messenger on vehicle with his guards Sarah, Blake, and I departed on our journey but not before Sam the enemy soldier came to me.

Sam: "(Y/n). I know what your planning so here..."

He handed me a flask of brew made alcohol that was unnaturally strong and letting us depart to our mission as the rest held the ground to buy more time.

"Blake. How's the explosives?"

Blake: "The explosives are good and hell yours might be stronger then ours! I've never seen such complex systems."
