Was all I could think of as a spear lodged itself into my chest as I fell backwards into the abyss seeing my compatriots looking at me eyes wide as some had purposely let me be hit. To everyone it was a moment of deafening silence but to me it was a moment locked in agony as my eyes connected with the person who threw the spear at me. The fox woman had an ever present smile on her face while licking her lips at me.

The fox Hunter she was called. But she didn't hunt foxes but rather humans and well a group and I had decided to go out and kill her only for us to royally fuck up and end up losing more then half of the hunting party.
As I fell I felt at peace as the storm of the abyss swallowed me whole...
??: "So how did you get out?"
"I'm getting there!"
I ended up surviving somehow, both the spear and the fall, but had realized my shitty little amulet I had got for dirt cheap wasn't just dirt cheap. It was also a recall stone.
??: "Recall stone?"
"It allows me to return somewhere under the right circumstances. And it happened to work at that moment and dropped me off at the Luxian town."
I had finished telling my story to the bartender lady as her cat ears twitched and she just laughed.
Bartender: "Wow neat story. And I'm the queen. You owe fifteen silver. Where ya heading after?"
"Veya. I have some business there."
I slap down the silver on the table and look to the side and see a very drunk person as I help him down onto one of the pub booths and leave the pub tossing up the bag of coins I had slyly sleight of hand from him.
Where was I going? Nowhere really I just wanted to get out and keep moving as the snow covered city was my next location. As long as I lived the people would eventually figure things out and just maybe change fate. But that fox Hunter was certainly something I wasn't expecting.
I heard rumors of a fox unifying tribes of Demi humans and slaughtering other tribes who didn't join her ever growing army. It's why I joined to get a good look at her and gauge her but all I could ever see from those sharp eyes is that she knew what I was and had I no intention of sparing anyone.
I needed to find a way home and fast or else my head was gonna be used a dinner table mantle. I hadn't even contemplated anyone else as her name echoed in my name like some curse.
