I looked at my newborn sister as mom held the newest addition to our family.
Mom: "Say hello to your new sibling. Promise me one thing."
"Yes mama?"
Mom: "Promise me you'll take good care of her?"
"I promise!"
Mom: "Pinky promise?"
We do a pinky promise as she pulls me on the bed as my sister was soundly asleep.
"What's her name mama?"
Mom: "It's..."
...
??: "Big bro get your ass up!"
I open my eyes to see my younger sister hovering over my bed.
"What time is it...Bailey?"

Bailey: "It's time to get up and drive me to school! I'm gonna be late!"
I prop myself up rubbing my eyes seeing Bailey stomp outside of my room as I look over to my nightstand and see the old photo of my parents attending my graduation and then Bailey's sixteenth birthday...without either of them.
"Don't worry mom...dad...I'll make sure she's fine."
I got up and cleaned myself up cracking my back in various places perfect for back problems to pop up. Our parents passed away soon after I graduated and due to being eighteen and no other family member wished to deal with another or even my family in general I adopted Bailey. Of course it was a legal nightmare for me but my mom's lawyer friend told me I had nothing to worry about.
As soon as I stepped out of the bathroom I see Bailey ready with a backpack and a coffee thermos.
"You don't like coffee."
Bailey: "Not for me idiot. I-It's for you...I need you wide awake when driving me...a-and call me when you get to work!"
I grab the thermos and pat her head as she pouts proclaiming I'm messing up and cramping her style as she leaves to the car first before me with a flushed red face.
I drove us with silence as she examined her nails and kept taking glances towards me.
"What? Got something on my face?"
Bailey: "Your tired."
...
"I'm always tired Bailey."
Bailey: "I'm not an idiot...you had that dream again didn't you."
...
"I miss them Bailey...I'm must making sure their little girl doesn't get hurt. My dreams are the last place I can see them."
