??: "(Y/n)! Wake up! You promised we'd go artifact seeking!"
Knocks echoed across my home as I open my eyes and debated whether to get up or just pretend I wasn't home.
I rolled over and went to sleep again...only to hear a thump and feel my bed sheets ripped off my body and frantically look up to see Brynn staring down at me with my bedsheets in her hands.

"Brynn! How did you get in!"
She points to the window which she had used her pick to pry it open and still there and entered.
Brynn: "Cmon you promised!"
"Brynn. Aren't you still recovering from that artifact hunt?"
I said while rubbing the back of my head remembering the events that transpired at least a couple of weeks ago where Brynn and I went into a dungeon to get some high-end artifacts to sell off but an accident happened causing Brynn to be exposed to the artifact. I had to drag her out of the dungeon sacrificing my anti-corruption stone to her and it would result in a loss but ultimately it was good I got her out.
Dungeons produce an energy that affects both biological and inorganic matter on a molecular level but the stones provide a safe barrier to stop the corruption. When the artifact activated in Brynn's hands it caused her protection stone to shatter which led me to giving her mine.
When I brought Brynn to the village doctor they had told me she had suffered some corruption exposure but will survive and will make a full recovery but I was told to lay off the dungeon raiding because I was given enough corruption for five people.
Brynn: "Pshh. I'm right as rain! Aren't you?"
"I'm still recovering from that corruption dose. But from what doc told me it went down to the equivalent of one person so I should be fine but I'll be sluggish."
Brynn: "Sweet! I heard a dungeon had appeared and I got a team together! I'll go grab them and regroup at the tavern!"
She grabs her weapon and runs out as I grab my medicine and make some herbal tea mixing in the medicinal herbs and drink the butter but ice cold sweet drink as the corruption filtered out of my body. I stare at my weapon which was a sword and shield (it's a charge blade) that could combine together and was modified due to an old artifact and my mind wandered remembering that day.
Flashback
I push my amped sword through the corrupted's chest and ripped it upwards splitting it in half in the middle as it dissolved into particles.
