So I tried this idea just as a Yandere writing but I couldn't so it's not much but I genuinely enjoyed this.

I looked at the market and held up and apple from one of the carts and gave the woman a bronze coin and left with a wave as I look up to see banners being waved of the new lord or rather new crown.
Ten years ago the former Royal family were less then accepting of other species into their kingdom. They were also tyrannical of their subjects imposing large taxes, gave authority and power to only the wealthy and highest ranking people in their inner circle, and had other species slaves at their disposal. It came to a head when the neighboring country saw the damage they were doing and well one war and revolution later they were gone permanently.
A day before the neighboring country army had arrived a revolution started with both townsfolk, former slaves, soldiers, and even servants of the royal family. They had stormed the Royal castle dragging each member one by one ridiculed them and for show paraded them around and at the end had their bodies burned at the stake. They had gotten every single family member in fear of retaliation and had razed it to find any survivors of the family and eventually killed an entire bloodline in one single night.
Well except for one. Rumors swirled around that royal family had one surviving member but they had been exiled from the family for having radical viewpoints and therefore everything about them was burned and destroyed so no one knows about me.
When the army had arrived they had seen the charred corpses of the family on stakes and were welcomed with open arms. After that you'd think it would go worse but it actually got better. War was a thing of the past, trade had increased, and a period of technological growth had made lives better then when my mom was in charge.
As for me I've been living in poverty doing odd jobs messenger duties as I didn't want to leave the city as there was still some good memories and the sights were still good for me. I pass by a group of hunters who were boisterously laughing about their hunt as it had become a lot more lively as some kids run past me going to play tag with some of the cats as I bumped into someone and fell back and rubbed my head and looked up to see a kuku.
"Oh fuck I'm sorry miss."

I offer my hand to her and she takes it as I help her dust off any dust as she giggled while looking at me.
??: "You have...mesmerizing eyes you know that?"
My eyes were special in a sense as they were a Diamond shape with green and almost glowing effect as I just wave it off.
"Thanks but yeah it's normal with me."
??: "What's your family line? If I can ask."
"Oh uh orphan. My family died when I was younger so I don't know anything about them."
