I like Ho'olheyak a lot and she fits this idea I got. Callisto Protocol was my inspiration. She will most definitely be used again.

(Y/n) POV

I ran for my life running from a looming nightmare as a dark mass chased after me sending tables and tearing the walls off. Seemingly a moving sentient maelstrom of malevolent energy.

I reached the end of the hallway which had an exit sign and tried to open only for it not budge as the mass got closer.

"Fucking open!"

Maelstrom: "She's...lying...WAKE UP!!"

It envelopes me as I fall down from my bed rubbing the back of my head as the howling of the wind outside brought me back to reality.

"Fucking nightmares..."

Billy: "You okay (Y/n)? You seem out of it."

"Yeah Billy. It's just that nightmare again..."

Billy: "Have you talked to the bases therapist? You've been messed up after that whole accident with Rachel..."

"I have. It could be some unresolved trauma or some kind of locked memories but I never experienced such things. For gods sake I was raised in a suburbs, had good parents, mediocre school life, had a girlfriend or two, and joined this expedition."

Billy: "And it can be undone by a mining incident..."

"...."

Billy: "Could the nightmares be-"

"No my tormentors are dead and dusted. One of them got vaporized into dust, one atom destroyed, and the last one had his head beaten in with his skull."

Billy: "That's not possible."

"Oh yes it is."

We argued a bit as I put on my arctic suit and go to the canteen to grab some hot chocolate and breakfast seeing other soldiers milling about or the newest form of gossip.

Rosa: "Hey (Y/n). Did you hear your assigned to crazy doctor lady."

"You mean Doctor Ho'olheyak. And I don't think she's crazy..."

Rosa: "Oh not you to-"

"She needs to have her everything revoked."

We turn our heads to the tv as someone increased the volume as it got everyone's attention regarding one of the frontier civilization outposts.

Reporter: "A tragic event unfolded yesterday as terrorist group known as the Retribution launched another bio weapon at the colony of New Castle. There are rumored survivors who survived the attack but we'll keep you updated on this story."

A few of us chuckled to ourselves as time came to ship out as I joined my team pulling my hood over my helmet and walked outside in the blizzard.

Leader: "Doc crazy has a job for us. Eggheads found something beneath the ice and wants us to lug it to the research station."

"Totally not foreboding at all."

Lucy: "Aren't you some kind of expert on this thing? What's your input?"

"Well considering this planet is a frozen rock but if we went any deeper we'd reach an underground ocean. Don't worry it's miles down. With our current drills we would still take three years to reach it. But it is concerning. Water is considered the primordial soup that we all come from. Demi and all. So if something was able to live and thrive in that ocean...are they capable of doing so on land..."
