Andi huffed and slapped her hand of cards down onto the airport floor, having lost yet another game of go-fish to Corey, who was, for some reason, a master at the game. It was now two hours into their three-hour delay, and Andi was beginning to get restless. Sam had been on the phone with the park owners for the past twenty minutes sorting things out and Colby had fallen asleep after breakfast, his head rested on her shoulder as he softly breathed in and out. Jake had pulled a random pack of cards out of nowhere and the three of them had been playing round after round of go-fish for what seemed like days. She was slowly going insane.
"Another round?" Corey asked, smugly gathering the cards up in his hands.
"No," Andi groaned, rubbing her eyes. "If I hear the phrase 'go fish' one more time I may lose my mind."
"I'll play again," Jake said from his spot on the floor. "Get ready to be destroyed, brother."
Corey dealt the cards out between the two of them and Andi pulled her phone out of her pocket, careful not to wake the sleeping boy beside her. She pulled up Google and began doing some extensive research of her own on the haunted park that they would be spending the next few days in. A few years ago she had gone through a small phase where she was obsessed with the place and all of the weird things that had happened there, but she had forgotten most of it by now, so an update was needed. She read multiple articles about the deaths and the origin of the park, marking down the important stuff in her notes app to reference later.
After about ten minutes of her researching and the guys playing go-fish, Jake had finally hit his breaking point. He dramatically collapsed backward and let out a long groan, drawing Andi's attention.
"I'm so fucking bored," Jake whined, rubbing his eyes furiously. "And I have to piss really bad."
"Dude, so do I," Corey nodded, stretching his arms. The two of them slowly turned towards Andi with a grin on their faces.
"Oh god," Andi groaned, clicking her phone off. "Don't look at me like that."
"Come on," Jake pleaded, his lips forming a pout. "One little adventure won't hurt."
"Yeah," Corey urged, copying the red-haired boy's actions. "We can go to the bathroom and then take a little stroll."
"What if we get back and they've shortened the delay?" Andi raised her eyebrows.
"They won't," Corey fired back hopefully. "And if they do, Sam will come and drag our asses back."
Andi thought for a second as the two of them stared intently at her. Her legs were getting sore from sitting for so long, and she was definitely very bored. A little walk around wouldn't hurt them.
"Fine," She sighed, and the two boys instantly began cheering. "But, we can't be gone too long."
"Aye aye captain," Jake saluted, jumping up with Corey.
Andi gently nudged Colby and his eyes momentarily fluttered open in a daze as he looked at her with a sleepy expression.
"Can you move your head for a second? I have to go to the bathroom." She softly whispered to the boy. He lifted his head and leaned it back against the wall, groggily mumbling something before falling right back into his dream. She smiled and stood up, stretching out her sore limbs, which felt amazing after the two hours of sitting with Colby's head on her shoulder. She twisted around and her back let out a strand of loud pops, causing Corey and Jake to stare at her in shock.
"God damn, brother," Corey laughed. "Don't break your back."
Andi shook her head at them and then picked up her phone and shoved it into the back pocket of her baggy jeans. The two boys had already started eagerly easing their way away from the sitting area, so Andi quickly walked over to where Sam was pacing on the phone. She tapped his shoulder and he turned around and pulled the phone away from his ear, covering the speaker with his palm.
