It's been a week since we returned.
Adhvik has gone back to work, and Vihan is off at school, leaving me alone with Vrihanika.
As night fell, Adhvik finally reached home.
"Where are the kids?" he asked, his voice laced with tiredness.
"They're sleeping; it's their bedtime," I replied, handing him a glass of water.
After gulping down the water, he caught my wrist and pulled me onto his lap.
"Let me recharge, wifey," he murmured. I hugged him, my hands gently massaging his scalp, trying to ease his headache.
After serving him breakfast and eating, we both headed to the bedroom to sleep.
I woke up suddenly at 3 a.m. with a strong craving for mint chocolate ice cream.
I quietly descended the stairs and made my way to the kitchen. Opening the fridge, I found chocolate ice cream but not the flavor I wanted.
For some reason, the absence of mint chocolate ice cream made me want to cry. Not wanting to wake Adhvik, who was already exhausted, I started sobbing quietly as I took the chocolate ice cream and began eating it.
After eating, I quickly headed back to our room and slipped into bed next to him.
I hugged him tightly, burying my head in his neck and inhaling his comforting cologne. He wrapped his arms around me, holding me close.
The next morning, I woke up as the sun's rays cascaded across my face, gently stirring me from my sleep.
Adhvik was peacefully sleeping, a slight pout on his lips.
I quickly pecked his lips, gently extricated myself from his embrace, and went to start my morning routine.
After finishing my morning routine, I descended the stairs and made my way to the kitchen.
Since it's Sunday, all the workers have the day off except Kamali didi who has work till evening
Suddenly, a wave of nausea hit me, and I rushed to the kitchen sink.
Feeling feeble afterward, I thought maybe yesterday's food didn't digest well.
I rinsed my mouth and continued with my cooking.
As I was cooking, I felt a hands sneaking my waist.
"Good morning, wifey," he whispered, nuzzling into my neck.
"Good morning to you too. What made you rise so early on a Sunday?" I inquired, curious about his early awakening.
"I have some office tasks to attend to, so I'll be working from home," he explained, eliciting a small scoff from me.
"Even on a Sunday, ji? Are you planning to spend your entire day working?" I remarked, a hint of playful disapproval in my tone.
"It's just important, Adhya," he answered.
I was about to say something, but he cut me off as a ringing phone suddenly broke the silence, making me scoff.
He gave me a quick peck and headed toward his home office, leaving me scoffing in frustration.
