Chapter - 23

Author's POV:

The office atmosphere has been quite different lately because the notoriously arrogant boss is very busy fighting with his temporary assistant. What??? Don't tell me you also want to see their fights. It's not a good thing to enjoy watching someone argue, you know. But, well, I wouldn't mind taking a peek myself. How about a quick look? Come on, let's go. They're probably in their cabin.

Author and Readers peek inside the cabin:

Yoongi: "Boss, I'm leaving!"

Hobi: "Where to?"

Yoongi, with a done face and a tight-lipped smile: "To clean."

Hobi: "Your brain?"

Yoongi, taking a deep breath and whispering: "No, your messy brain."

Hobi: "Mr. Min, louder!"

Yoongi: "Nothing, Boss. I should go."

With that, Yoongi left without waiting for a response. Their ongoing war has now become famous throughout the office. Some employees are even betting on how long Mr. Min can tolerate Mr. Jung Hoseok or the boss can tolerate Mr. Min.

Just two days ago, the entire office witnessed a glimpse of their argument because they forgot they were standing on the internal balcony.

Two Days Earlier:

Hoseok: "Mr. Min, don't you think you talk too much?"

Yoongi: "Mr. Boss, don't you think you should sometimes listen to your employees?"

Hoseok: "Mr. Min, I know what I'm doing."

Yoongi: "Or maybe you're just overconfident that you're always right. You have no right to speak to your elders like that."

Hoseok: "Mr. Min, don't teach me how to speak to my elders when you yourself talk to your elders like this. And if you can't stand it, just turn your head away."

Yoongi: "Maybe you should bow your head once in a while."

Hoseok: "Mr. Min!" (Hobi shouted loudly)

Yoongi flinched and took two steps back. Hoseok's raised voice startled him because no one had ever spoken to him like that before. He was almost on the verge of tears, and it happened again today. Yoongi's eyes filled with tears, and just one more shout from Hobi would have made them spill over.

Somewhere, Hobi's weakness had become those teary eyes.

Back to the Present:

After finishing their fight session, both Boss and Assistant got back to work. Suddenly, Hoseok received a request from the HR Head, asking for Yoongi's assistance with a report that only Yoongi and Sumi could prepare. Without much thought, Hobi approved the request. Yoongi was so happy about it that it felt like he had been released from life imprisonment.

Yoongi happily went to his beloved best friend to complete the report.

At the Department:

Yoongi (yelling, but not too loudly): "Sumi! Hey kid, how are you?"

Sumi, giving Yoongi a side hug: "Yoongi Hyung, I'm good, since yesterday evening."

Yoongi: "Doesn't look like it, your face seems down."

Saying this, Yoongi sat next to Sumi, opening his laptop.

Sumi: "Hyung, I'm fine." (But Yoongi could clearly see the hidden tension on Sumi's face. Even though they now worked in different departments, Sumi had become like a little sister to Yoongi, and he could sense the feelings behind her smile. Today, he could confidently say that Sumi was very worried and sad.)
