Dazai nodded, his mind already scheming on how to make Chuuya show him his drawings. "So, would you like to go out and grab some lunch? My treat," he suggested, hoping to continue their conversation on a lighter note.
Chuuya eyed Dazai suspiciously. "What's the catch?" He asked, crossing his arms over his chest.
Dazai put on an innocent expression. "No catch, I promise. Just two brothers having a meal together."
After a moment of contemplation, Chuuya relented. "Fine, but if you try anything funny, I'm leaving."
Dazai grinned. "Deal."

They headed out a nearby café, the atmosphere between them surprisingly relaxed. As they sat down with their food, Dazai couldn't help but notice the subtle tension still lingering in Chuuya's demeanor.
"You know," Dazai began casually, "we don't have to be at each other's throats all the time. We could actually be friends."
Chuuya raised an eyebrow skeptically. "Friends, huh? Is that even possible?"
Dazai shrugged. "Why not? We are stuck together as stepbrothers, might as well make the best of it."
Chuuya regarded him for a moment before sighing. "Fine, let's give it a shot. But no funny business."
Dazai held up his hands in mock surrender. "No funny business, I swear."
As they ate, they delved into lighter topics, discussing their favorite movies, books and hobbies. Chuuya opened up more about his passion for drawing, showing rare glimpse of vulnerability that Dazai found intriguing.
"I have never really shown my drawings to anyone," Chuuya admitted, a hint of uncertainty in his voice.
Dazai smiled encouragingly. "Well, if you ever feel like sharing, I'm here to appreciate your talent."
Chuuya seemed taken aback by the sincerity in Dazai's words but nodded appreciatively.

Chuuya finished his meal after a while and leaned back in his chair, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Thanks for lunch," he said, surprising Dazai with the genuine gratitude in his tone.
Dazai waved it off with a smile. "No problem. Anytime you want to grab a meal together, just let me know."
They left the café and strolled through the bustling streets, the chatter of people and the hum of cars creating a lively backdrop to their walk. Dazai couldn't help but notice how Chuuya seemed more relaxed now, his guard lowered just a fraction.
"I have always admired people who can create art. I can barely draw a stick figure." Dazai said, breaking the silence between them.
Chuuya chuckled. "It takes practice, that's all. Maybe I can teach you sometime."
Dazai raised an eyebrow in mock surprise. "Are you offering to be my art tutor now?"
Chuuya rolled his eyes but smiled nonetheless. "Don't get ahead of yourself. I said maybe."
Dazai laughed, the sound light and genuine. "Fair enough. I will hold you to that 'maybe' then." They continued their walk, their conversation flowing easily.

As they passed by a park, Chuuya's eyes lit up. "Hey, want to go on the swings?" He asked, pointing to the playground equipment ahead.
Dazai raised an eyebrow, surprised by the suggestion but intrigued. "Sure, why not?"
They made their way to the swings, and soon enough, they were swinging back and forth, the wind rushing past them. Dazai couldn't remember the last time he had been on a swing, and he found himself enjoying the simple pleasure of it.
"You know," Chuuya said between swings, "this isn't so bad."
Dazai grinned. "Told you we could be friends."
Chuuya chuckled, and for a moment, there was a genuine warmth between them that hadn't been there before.

As the sun began to set, they decided to head back home. The walk back was filled with comfortable silence, a stark contrast to the tension that used to linger between them.
When they arrived home, Yosano greeted them with a smile. "Did you boys have good day?" She asked, noticing the ease in their expressions.
Dazai nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, we had a great time."
Chuuya's lips quirked up in a small smile, a rare sight that didn't go unnoticed by Yosano.
"I'm glad to hear that," she said, her eyes softening as he looked at her two sons.

Later that evening, as they sat in the living room watching a movie, Dazai turned to Chuuya. "Hey, do you mind showing me some of your drawings?"
Chuuya hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Sure, why not?"
He fetched a sketchbook from his room and returned, flipping through the pages to reveal a collection of intricate, and of course impressive, drawings. Dazai was genuinely impressed, his eyes widening as he took in Chuuya's talent.
"These are amazing," Dazai said, genuine admiration in his voice.
Chuuya's cheeks flushed slightly at the praise. "Thanks."
They spent the rest of the evening looking through Chuuya's drawings, discussing each piece in detail. It was a side of Chuuya that Dazai hadn't seen before, and he found himself feeling closer to his stepbrother in that moment.
As the night grew late, they called it a night and retreated to their respective rooms. Dazai lay in bed, reflecting on the day's events. He never expected that a simple lunch outing would lead to such breakthrough in his relationship with Chuuya.

The next day, as they sat at the breakfast table, Chuuya glanced at Dazai. "Hey, do you want to go to the art supply store with me later? I need to restock some supplies."
Dazai's eyes lit up. "Sure, I would love to!"
And just like that, they made plans for another outing, this time centered around Chuuya's passion for art.
As they browsed through the aisles of the art supply store, Chuuya explained the different tools and materials he used for his drawings. Dazai listened intently, genuinely interested in learning more about Chuuya's craft.
"You should try sketching something," Chuuya suggested, handing Dazai a sketchbook and a pencil.
Dazai hesitated at first, feeling a bit self-conscious about his lack of artistic skills. But with Chuuya's encouragement, he gave it a shot, attempting to draw a simple flower.
"It's not bad for a beginner," Chuuya remarked, a teasing glint in his eyes.
Dazai chuckled. "I will leave the artistry to you."
