The snow fell softly, blanketing the city in a serene white cover. Atsushi, bundled up in a thick coat and gloves, stood outside Dazai's house with a mischievous grin. That day, Atsushi had decided it was time to be brave and confess his feelings.

He took a deep breath, his heart pounding with nervous excitement. With a handful of snow, he aimed for Dazai's window, intending to get his attention. Little did he know, the window was open, inviting the crisp air into Dazai's room.

The snowball sailed through the open window with surprising accuracy, landing on Dazai's desk and scattering papers in its wake.

Atsushi winced, realizing his miscalculation. He watched as Dazai appeared at the window, his expression a mix of annoyance and amusement.

"What in the world, Atsushi?" Dazai called out, leaning against the window frame with a raised eyebrow.

Atsushi sheepishly scratched the back of his head. "Sorry, I didn't realize the window was open. I just wanted to say hi."

Dazai chuckled, shaking his head. "You never fail to surprise me. Come on up."

Heart racing, Atsushi climbed the stairs to Dazai's apartment. Each step felt like a leap into the unknown. When he reached the door, Dazai was already there, a playful glint in his eyes.

"Welcome to my humble abode," Dazai said with a flourish, holding the door open.

Atsushi stepped inside, taking in the cozy chaos of Dazai's living space. Books were scattered everywhere, some open with bookmarks peeking out, others stacked precariously on shelves.

"Sorry about the mess," Dazai apologized half-heartedly, as if he were proud of the disorder.

"It's... Uh, charming," Atsushi replied, trying not to sound too nervous.

Dazai flashed him a smile that sent butterflies fluttering in Atsushi's stomach. "Can I offer you some coffee?"

"Sure, that would be great," Atsushi replied, grateful for the distraction.

As Dazai disappeared into the kitchen, Atsushi took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing thoughts. This was it, the moment he had been building up to for months. He couldn't let fear hold him back now.
