Minutes later, there was a knock on the door. Chuuya took a deep breath and opened it to find Atsushi standing there, his expression somber yet determined.
"Hey," Atsushi said softly, offering Chuuya a small smile. "Mind if I come in?"
Chuuya shook his head, stepping aside to let Atsushi enter. They both sat on the couch, the silence stretching between them as they searched for the right words.
"I'm sorry about what happened," Atsushi finally spoke, breaking the silence. "I know it must be hard for you too."
Chuuya nodded, his eyes focused on a spot on the wall. "Yeah, it's... It's been tough."
Atsushi reached out and placed a comforting hand on Chuuya's shoulder. "Akutagawa told me your feelings about Dazai," he said gently. "I know it's not easy loving someone you can't have."
Chuuya's eyes widened in surprise. He hadn't expected Atsushi to know about his feelings for Dazai, let alone acknowledge them. He felt a mix of gratitude and sadness wash over him.
"I'm sorry," Chuuya said quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. "I never meant to come between you and Akutagawa."
Atsushi shook his head. "It's not your fault," he said firmly. "We all have our own feelings to navigate."
They sat in silence for a while longer, the weight of their shared pain hanging heavy in the air. Chuuya found himself opening up to Atsushi in a way he hadn't expected, sharing his fears and regrets without reservation.
"It's just... I thought Akutagawa and I would be together forever," Chuuya confessed, tears welling up in his eyes. "But now... Now everything feels so uncertain."
Atsushi squeezed Chuuya's shoulder gently. "I know it's hard to see beyond this moment," he said softly. "But things will get better I promise."
Chuuya nodded, wiping away his tears with the back of his hand. He took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm of emotions raging inside him.

"Take care, Chuuya," Atsushi said as he stepped outside. "And remember, things will get better."
Chuuya nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "I will remember. Thank you, Atsushi."
Atsushi watched Chuuya's door close, his mind heavy with thoughts about what had transpired. He sighed deeply, feeling the weight of Akutagawa's pain mingling with his own. It was late, but something inside him urged him to see Akutagawa. He needed to know how he was coping.
Atsushi took out his phone and typed a quick message to Akutagawa, asking if he could come over. To his surprise, Akutagawa replied almost immediately with an invitation. Feeling a mixture of anxiety and determination, Atsushi made his way to Akutagawa's apartment.
