Chuuya sat on the edge of the bed, his hands clenched tightly in his lap. The room was silent except for the occasional sound of a car passing by outside. He stared blankly at the wall, his mind racing with thoughts he couldn't quite put into words. Akutagawa stood by the window, his back turned to Chuuya, his posture rigid and tense.

"Chuuya," Akutagawa's voice broke the silence, but Chuuya didn't look up. He couldn't bear to meet Akutagawa's eyes, not when he knew what he was about to say.

"I think we should break up," Akutagawa continued, his voice barely above a whisper. Chuuya's heart clenched at the words, even though he knew they were coming. He nodded slowly, still not looking at Akutagawa.

"I have been feeling it too," Chuuya finally spoke, his voice barely audible. "We are not... We are not right for each other anymore."

Akutagawa turned around, his expression unreadable. "It's because of him, isn't it?" He asked, his voice tinged with bitterness.

Chuuya nodded, his eyes finally meeting Akutagawa's. "I can't keep lying to myself," he said softly. "I love him, Akutagawa. I have always loved him."

Akutagawa's jaw clenched, but he didn't say anything. He turned back to the window, his gaze fixed on the cityscape outside. The sun was setting, casting a warm glow over the buildings.

"We should... We should spend one last day together," Akutagawa said after a long moment of silence. "Before we go our separate ways."

Chuuya nodded, a lump forming in his throat. "Yeah, one last day."

They spent the rest of the evening in silence, each lost in their own thoughts. Chuuya couldn't shake the feeling of guilt that weighed heavy on his chest. He knew he was hurting Akutagawa, but he couldn't deny his own feelings any longer.

As night fell, they decided to take a walk through the city. The streets were bustling with people, the air filled with the sound of laughter and music. Chuuya and Akutagawa walked side by side, their steps in sync but their minds and hearts miles apart.

"Do you remember when we first met?" Akutagawa suddenly spoke, breaking the silence. Chuuya nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

"Yeah, you spilled coffee all over my sketchbook," Chuuya chuckled, the memory warming his heart despite the current situation.

Akutagawa smiled faintly. "And you yelled at me for being clumsy," he said, a hint of amusement in his voice.

"But then you helped me clean it up," Chuuya added, his smile widening. "And we ended up talking for hours."

"It was a good day," Akutagawa said softly, his gaze distant.

They walked in silence for a while longer, the memories of their time together hanging heavy in the air. Chuuya wanted to reach out, to hold Akutagawa's hand like they used to, but he held himself back. It wouldn't be fair, not when he knew his heart belonged to someone else.

They stopped by a small park, sitting on a bench overlooking a pond. The water shimmered in the moonlight, the sound of crickets filling the air.

"I'm sorry, Akutagawa," Chuuya finally spoke, his voice barely above a whisper. "I never wanted to hurt you."

Akutagawa looked at him, his eyes softening. "I know," he said simply. "I just wish things were different."

Chuuya nodded, his throat tight. "Me too."

They sat in silence for a while longer, the weight of the impending separation hanging heavy between them. Chuuya wanted to say more, to express everything he was feeling, but the words eluded him.

As they walked back to their apartment, Chuuya couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness wash over him. He knew this was the right decision, for both of them, but it didn't make it any easier.

When they reached the apartment, they stood in front of the door, neither wanting to be the first to say goodbye. Chuuya looked at Akutagawa, his eyes filled with unspoken emotions.

"Goodbye, Akutagawa," Chuuya finally said, his voice barely audible.

Akutagawa nodded, his own eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Goodbye, Chuuya."

They hugged briefly, a silent acknowledgment of the love they once shared. Then, with one last look, Chuuya turned and entered the apartment, closing the door behind him.

Inside, he leaned against the door, his heart heavy with sorrow. He knew this was the right choice, but that didn't make it hurt any less.

As he sat alone in the quiet apartment, Chuuya couldn't help but wonder what the future held for him. But one thing was certain. No matter what happened, he would always carry a piece of Akutagawa with him, a bittersweet reminder of a love that was once his whole world.

Chuuya's thoughts were a whirlwind of emotions as he sat in the dimly lit apartment. The memories of his time with Akutagawa flooded his mind. The laughter they shared, the late-night conversations about art and life, and the way Akutagawa's eyes would light up when he talked about his favorite paintings. It was all so bittersweet now, tinged with the knowledge that their love was no longer enough to bridge the gap between them.

He glanced at the clock on the wall, realizing that it was already past midnight. The day had slipped away faster than he had anticipated, leaving him feeling and empty and lost. He wondered how Akutagawa was coping, whether he was also sitting alone in his own apartment, grappling with the same heartache.

The sound of his phone buzzing on the coffee table interrupted his thoughts. Chuuya hesitated for a moment before picking it up, half-expecting it to be Akutagawa reaching out one last time. But the screen displayed a message from an unknown number.

'Hey, it's Atsushi. Akutagawa gave me your number. I heard what happened. Are you okay?'

Chuuya's heart skipped a beat at the unexpected message. Atsushi was Akutagawa's other love, the one Chuuya had never quite understood, but had accepted nonetheless. He quickly typed out a response, his fingers trembling slightly.

'Hi, Atsushi, thanks for reaching out. I'm okay, just processing everything. How is Akutagawa?'

The reply came almost instantly. 'He is not doing great. Can I come over? I think we both need someone to talk to right now.'

Chuuya hesitated, unsure if he was ready to face Atsushi after everything that had happened. But a part of him longed for the comfort of another person's presence, someone who understood the complexities of their situation.

'Sure, you can come over,' Chuuya finally replied, his heart racing with anticipation and anxiety.
