Max and Xander sat in the restaurant, their eyes fixed on the woman who had just walked in with her friends. Larisa. Their cousin. The girl they thought had died in the fire eight years ago.
They were in shock, their minds racing with questions and emotions. How was she alive? Why did she let them think she was dead? Why was she here, now?
But as they sat there, frozen in disbelief, they couldn't gather the courage to approach her. They couldn't bring themselves to face the girl they had hurt so deeply.
Guilt and shame washed over them as they remembered the way they had treated her. The way they had believed Lisa's lies and turned against Larisa The way they had left her to die in the fire.
They knew they had wronged her, and now, as they saw her alive and well, they felt the weight of their mistakes bearing down on them.
Max and Xander exchanged a nervous glance, their eyes filled with regret. They wanted to approach her, to apologize, to make amends. But they couldn't muster the courage.
So they sat there, stuck in their seats, unable to move or speak, as Letricia and her friends laughed and chatted, oblivious to the three men who had once betrayed her.
