I slowly opened my eyes, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings. The hospital room came into focus, and memories of the previous events flooded my mind. I tried to stand, but a wave of dizziness washed over me. As I settled back into bed, my gaze fell upon Letricia, sleeping peacefully beside me. My heart swelled with relief; she was okay.

I scanned her body, noticing most of her wounds had healed, leaving only fading marks. I gently touched her face, and she stirred, her eyes locking onto mine. Tears filled her eyes as we embraced, holding each other tightly.

"Baby, I was so scared of losing you," I whispered, my voice cracking with emotion.

"I was restless, not knowing where you were," Letricia replied, her voice trembling. "How did you find me?"

"Your lucky bracelet," I said, smiling. "The tracker helped me, and I'm grateful you wore it that day. I would have lost my mind if something happened to you."

Letricia cried, "I missed you too, Mason. I was so scared when you got shot, and when I woke up and the doctor said you were in a coma, I was heartbroken. He wasn't sure when you'd wake up, but you came back, baby."

I gazed at her, my heart overflowing with love, and couldn't resist kissing her. We both looked horrible and reeked of hospital sickness, but in that moment, none of that mattered.

"Let's ask the doctor if we can go home," Letricia suggested, snuggling deeper into my arms.

I nodded, holding her close, grateful to have her back by my side.
