David wants another meeting. This time I hope that he gives me more information about what’s to come with this. I act normal, like yesterday, just in case the news didn’t reach him.

“So you ready for this meeting?” He asks. “I hope that you didn’t tell your friends about this."

“No sir, I did not."

“Good. I’m glad that you don’t know what happened before my new plan that we talked about last meeting.” He winks at me, and I know that the news did not get to him.

“You mean the plan to erase Chicago, right?” I say as we enter the meeting room. There isn’t anyone else here yet, which is a good thing.

“Yes, that plan.” He has a lukewarm smile, more so than ever. The others filter in, and we settle down. David starts the meeting, and I can’t help but try to pay attention.

David talks on and on about the serums that he will use and the backup plan that is being put into place as soon as the words leave his mouth. It’s boring, listening to him talk, but it’s necessary since I am the only one to pass on this information. But he suddenly stops when there is a low rumble that infiltrates the building.

“What was that?” He asks, standing.

“I don’t know sir, something must be happening,” I reply. I go to look outside the door and I fling myself back as people run past us in different directions.

“Well, close the door and get back in here,” David says. “Don’t worry about what’s happening out there.” He takes a seat and reassures everyone that it’s none of our business to focus on other things.

But just as soon as I take my seat, Amar bursts through the doors.

David,” Amar bursts through the door and looks at me. “There’s an explosion."

"An Explosion? Where? When?” David hurries through the door and out into the hallway where people are running in every direction.

"Delilah come close and stick with me please.” Amar grabs my hand and pulls me into the opposite direction, away from David, away from everyone who's running in the same direction.

"Where is Eric?” I shout.

"No time to worry about him, worry about yourself first.” He shouts back.

He drags me into a storage closet and locks the door.

"We are safe here. No one is going to get us,” He says, panting.

"I hope everyone is okay?” I say.

"Me too.” We wait in the dark room for what seems like hours, and eventually I fall asleep, in the comfort of my best friend as we survive this terror together.

"Delilah, get up. I think it’s all safe to go.” Amar says. My eyes shudder open and I blink lazily as I watch him open up the door. He peeks around each side, and it is quiet; even though there are people walking by.

"Delilah, let’s go check on Eric,” Amar says, grabbing my sweaty hand and hauling me up off the floor.

"Where was he when the bomb exploded?” I ask. “Was he with you?"

"No he wasn’t. I sent him somewhere to go get something for me.” He shakes his head.

"We should check the hospital just in case he is hurt,” I say, leading him to the location. Lots of people wait with injuries outside of the doors as the bureau people try to take care of them. I spot Tris at the back with a small head injury and a stitched up arm, but at least she is alive. I don't know where everyone else is.
