TW: Death, implied suicide, slight implied sh [self harm]
(Pray, unveil if there be a shadow yet untouched by my gaze, whispered within the verses of this poetic haze.)
Nobody knew, nobody saw,
Lost in a world without a flaw.
Weary eyes, heavy with despair,
Tired of pretending, of the masks we wear.
Smiles painted, but hearts worn thin,
Fighting battles no one knew within.
Yells echo loud, like distant bells,
Invisible wounds, nobody tells.
Wishes whispered into the night,
Thoughts tangled, lost in the fight.
Breath shallow, life slowly slips away,
In the silence, where darkness holds sway.
Yet nobody sees, nobody knows,
As life's river endlessly flows.
Until the final note, a silent plea,
Left behind for all to see.
And in the tears that will flow,
Regrets and sorrows will grow.
For the one who bore burdens alone,
In silence, his pain was never shown.
But when the last farewell is bared,
And the truth of his suffering declared,
They'll wonder how they failed to see,
The silent cries, the plea to be free.
For in the end, in the depths of despair,
Nobody knew, and nobody cared
