TW:In this lyrical weave, no dire omens foretold,
Yet compelled I am to unfold: Within this sonnet's embrace, a love story unfolds, 'Tween two souls, where affection molds. Those harboring malice, take heed and abscond, For here, only love's song resounds.

(A tale murmured 'neath night's shroud of fear, Fortune's grace spared me, drawing near. Yet, I've felt the tether of parental decree, And in these verses, perhaps solace you'll see. O dear reader, know in this shared plight, You're not solitary in love's veiled light.)

In a quiet town where shadows dwell,
Lived a boy with a tale to tell.

Parents stern, faith so strict,
Words like chains, his soul afflict.

He met another in summer light,
Eyes so bright, a star-filled night.

Laughter danced, fingers near,
A secret thrived beneath the fear.

Hidden glances, soft and shy,
Hearts would leap, time would fly.

Every moment held a cost,
One boy feared all he'd lost.

Parents preached of love and sin,
A world where he could never win.

He tried to fight, push away,
Truth that grew more each day.

Love, so pure, refused to fade,
Despite the dread his mind had made.

He wished to speak his heart's song,
Feared his words would come out wrong.

In a whispered night, under the moon,
Found courage, yet too soon.

With trembling voice, shared his plight,
Love so deep, bound in fright.

Tears in eyes, met the gaze,
Of the one who set his heart ablaze.

A sigh escaped, silent whirl,
"I wish you were a girl."
