In the depths where shadows linger long,
Where whispers echo, sorrow's song,
A soul beset by tempest's tide,
In silent agony, it resides.
"Being suicidal and living for others,"
They murmured, voices fraught with pain,
"Incredibly draining," the truth they confess,
In the labyrinth of despair's domain.
"I don't think it's 'living for others',"
I countered softly, seeking light,
"It's more like 'living because of them',
A testament to love's fierce might.
"You love them so deeply,
That to cause them pain you cannot bear,
So you carry on through nights so steep,
With a heart heavy, burdened with care.
"Like 'normal' souls who would die,
For those they cherish dear,
You choose to endure, you choose to try,
To shield them from your inner fear.
"It's not just existence, but a testament,
A tribute to love's purest form,
To live through darkness, to not relent,
To weather the heart's darkest storm.
"So hold on, dear heart, and know this true,
Your pain is not in vain,
For in your choice to live for them,
Love's greatest strength shall reign."
In the quiet of that solemn hour,
Hope whispered softly through the night,
For in the depth of love's great power,
Resides the courage to embrace the light.
