I can't believe I had said that. I'd said possibly the worse thing anyone was ever going to say to Rose Weasley in the first 10 minutes of meeting her.
I sit down in the compartment I'd been in before I went looking for Rose Weasley and Albus Potter. It's at the end of the carriage, it's empty, with stain on the seat and the strange smell.
I open the wicker cat basket next to me, and out jumps a small ginger kitten with moss green eyes, called PeekaBoo.
I called him PeekaBoo because when I first got him he would hide behind stuff and then jump out, as though playing Peekaboo. Usually I call him Boo for short though.
I pull Boo up to my face. He's small head nuzzle's my cheek and he begins to purr.
Tears begin to sparkle in my eyes. How could I have been so stupid.
Dad had wanted me to say sorry for him, and I had gone and stuffed it up.
Well part of it wasn't entirely my fault. It definitely wasn't my fault Rose Weasley's temper is as red as her hair. But still, I shouldn't have called her Mum a Mudblood.
Three boys walk into the compartment opposite, chatting to each other. I catch a bit of what they're saying.
'You sure you wanna sit here, the Malfoy kid's sitting in the opposite one, you know his family are death eaters, right?' Says one of the boys.
'Yeah, true.' Says another boy.
They begin to walk away, but as they do they catch me watching them.
'Watchya staring at freak,' says one of the boys, opening my compartment door.
'Nothing,' I mutter, looking down into Boo's fur. These boy's are about 14 or 15 years old, I can't fight them. I just lost a fight to an 11 year old girl.
'Stop staring, death eater dick,' says another boy, pushing me in the chest.
'C'mon, we should go,' says another one of the boys, who's kept quiet till now.
'No, the death eater freak has to be taught a lesson,' says the boy who pushed me.
The three of them walk towards me, as I shuffle back along the seat.
My heart begins pumping loudly, Boo jumps off, and hides under the other seat.
'What happened to your face? Make fun of your Master, Voldemort!' Says one of the boys, they all start laughing.
'Is anything going on here?' It's the Trolley Lady.
'Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're just going.' The boys run off down the carriage.
The Trolley Lady sits down opposite me, 'Let me fix your face up a little bit.'
'Thanks,' I say, patting Boo, who just jumped back up into my lap.
The Trolley Lady waves her wand a few times and soon the cuts and bruises are gone.
'Thanks,' I say again.
The Trolley Lady smiles and stands up, 'Have fun at Hogwarts,' she says.
