The Christmas holidays seem to whiz pass. Most of our time is spent the Burrow, which is only a 45 minute walk from our house on the hills.
Everyday most of the family is there, having snowball fights; playing Quidditch; drinking hot cocoa; playing games of Wizard's Chess (no one except Dad can beat me) and saaGobstones and having massive games of hide and seek.
It's so great to see Mum and Dad again, and Hugo, Remus and Sarah. And Lily too. Plus the rest of my family, but Victoire, Dominique and Molly have all stayed behind to study for their NEWTs; they're in sixth and seventh year.
Christmas comes, and I wake up on a couch at the Burrow, my cup of cocoa, now cold, is still hanging out of my hand. I put it down, and rub my eyes. Lily is lying next to me, so clost that she is practically on top of me, "Lil," I whisper, shaking her,"Lil, Lil! Wake up!"
Lily yawns, and sits up, which causes Sarah, who was asleep on top of her, to fall, and land on Al, who fell asleep leaning against the couch.
"Ow! Oi! What?" Al says groggily, pushing Sarah away.
"Ouch!" Sarah says reproachfully.
"Sorry!" Lily says apologetically.
I bite my lip, trying not to laugh.
I look around, it still seems early, no one else is awake; everyone had fallen asleep last night, mid conversation, or mid chess game. We were always up so late on Christmas Eve, that no one ever bothers going home. And the adults had long since given up on carrying us into a bed.
"What's the time?" Lily asks with a yawn.
I look down at my watch, 6:27.
"6:30," I say.
Al moans, standing up, "Why do you wanna wake up so early?" He groans, pushing Lily out of the way, and curling up on the couch.
"Oi!" Lily says reproachfully.
"Wait, where'd Sarah go?" I ask, looking around.
I spot Sarah over by the tree, ripping off wrapping around a present.
"No Sarah," I say, "you can't do that. You have to wait until everyone is up."
Sarah sighs, rolling her eyes, and pushes her half unwrapped present, a book, so probably from Mum, back under the tree.
"Why should we wait?" Lily says, "why don't we wake them all up!" She grins mischievously, and before I can stop her, she grabs an ornamental bell hanging from the tree and begins to ring it, "WAKE UP WEASLEYS! IT'S CHRISTMAS!"
Everyone sits up, moaning and groaning, placing there hands over there ears.
Sarah jumps up clapping happily, grabs a bell off the tree and starts to join in with Lily.
"SHUT IT!" Lucy yells, who is the oldest cousin in the room since Victoire, Domi and Molly aren't here. They're at Hogwarts, studing for there NEWTs.
Sarah stops ringing her bell and bites her bottom lip, her eyes wide; Lily drops her bell in surprise, and it lands with a loud clang on the floor.
"Sorry," Lucy says with a sigh, "I just have a bit of a headache."
"You mean a hangover," says her younger brother, Alastor, jokily.
Lucy chucks a cushion at him. It hits him in the face, and he laughs, before throwing it back at Lucy. She ducks, and it hits Roxy squarely in the face.
Everyone grins, at the prospect of what is about to happen. Roxy has never ever backed down from a challenge; and I'm pretty sure that Roxy counts that cushion as a challenge. She begins to pelt him with cushions and he fights back, but all of a sudden everyone starts to join in.
