Hey!

There are four chapters left in book 1!

It's a shorter, less serious chapter than usual.

Let us get back to it.

"What's wrong, Mostima?"

Mostima looked up from her phone with a smile, which had been sending alerts nonstop for twenty minutes.

"Nothing to worry about; get some rest, Lemuen."

Lemuen watched Mostima from the comfort of her bed with concern. Mostima was kind enough to stay by her side when Exusiai followed Farsight to Laterano for a mission. Lemuen wasn't a fool; she knew Mostima well enough to know when her smile was genuine or fake.

It couldn't be any more fake.

"You've been staring at your phone intently for a while now. It must be something important."

"Just some business I've got to take care of," Mostima's smile never faltered, but Lemuen could see her gripping the phone tightly.

"Can It Wait?"

"..." Mostima looked down at her phone in thought.

Lemuen sighed and smiled, "It's alright; you can go; I won't hold it against you."

Mostima's stare was that of thankfulness, and she made her way to the door but stopped when Lemuen called out again.

"Exusiai and Farsight, on the other hand, might have  few choice words for you."

Mostima froze briefly but smiled over her shoulder, "Tell them I'll be coming back."

Just like that, Mostima left, leaving Lemuen to ponder Mostima's words.

Was she coming back by her own volition or kicking and screaming?

Lemuen didn't know Farsight all that well, not even after they had sat down together and had a lengthy conversation. Still, it didn't stop the idea of Exusiai and him pulling Mostima by her legs while she clung to a doorframe, shouting for freedom.

Lemuen giggled and snuggled back into her bed.

Maybe she could play matchmaker?

Mostima closed the door behind her and leaned against it with a heavy sigh, frowning as she listened to Lemuen giggle to herself on the other side of the door.

"Well, at least she's happier than the last time she saw her," Mostima thought and smiled.

A smile that soon dropped when her phone vibrated again, as well as the phone she had taken from Lemuen for her safety. There was no way she would put Lemuen under that kind of stress. She didn't need to know about it, not yet.

She pulled out her phone to look at the message she had seen before; she had seen it dozens of times in the past thirty minutes but was still unsure how to deal with it.

Mostima knew every other Sankta or fallen was most likely in the very same position as her.
