Maven's Pov
"Shut up it says here that the report should be like 5 pages long,"I say chuckling. "You have a really cute smile,"she says making me self conscious. I don't know how i hadn't noticed her all this time and we take the same class. She seems interesting. "I could use a break, do you want anything?"

"Maybe some water?"

"Done,"I say getting off the carpeted  bedroom floor to get her what she asked for. I already explained my living situation to her and Marlowe hasn't really been here much and when she is she's locked up in her room. It was a drunken confession that I chose to dismiss. "Mhh interesting choices really,"I think to myself as I scan the refrigerator. I do pay her the little I make from my coffee barista job which I'm sure she's piling up to give back someday. "Umm I'm gonna go, we can finish the project at school,"she says bolting for the door. What just happened?

"Everything okay Charlie?"

"Mh yes everything is great,"she says getting into the elevator and it closes. What happened? She was flirting a second ago and now she can't wait to be out of here? I knock on her door aggressively before it's abruptly opened and she blocks my hand from hitting her with her hand. What? I didn't think she'd open so I was prepared to keep knocking. "I'm in a very important meeting right now a-" "Cut the bullshit! Stop it! This is the second study buddy to bolt out of here like they just saw a ghost. If you don't want me bringing them here tell me because it's starting to look pathetic on your side," "what?"

"Yo-"

"Open that mouth again to to disrespect me and-"

"You'll what? Fuck my brains out? News flash, we already did that so you better come up with something more scary!"I say walking to my room . "I want you out of here in a week," she says seriously stopping me in my tracks.

"Because you're jealous?"

"I don't care what reason I have I want you out! I'll pay the deposit and first two months rent but find a fucking place,"she says before slamming her door so hard the expensive paintings shook. Wow I'm not even surprised. She really can't stand to look at me she'd pay for an apartment to not be in the same place as me? I try knocking on her door again but she doesn't open. Instead all I hear is her locking it. Real mature. I shouldn't have poked her like that. It's almost time for gym because all I've been doing here is eat and be stress free. Maybe I do need to move out. I only accepted her help because it was temporary. I change into my gym wear and head out. Her building does have a gym but I want to take a walk to process and Bianca's gym is a safe distance from here. I dial her and she picks up on the first ring.

"Are you still at the gym?"

"Yeah, just because you abandoned me for your fancy gym doesn't mean my life ended,"she says making chuckle. It's true. I've barely hang out with her after school because my apartment was our hang out spot. When I get there I scan for her and there she is chatting off some gym trainer. Only reason she comes here apart from fear of not looking good in her bikini. "Maves! God I've missed you!"she says wrapping her legs around my torso trusting my gym gains to not drop her and I don't. "You smell like lavender soap and vanilla attitude,"she says making a weird face.

"Hey that's all they have there,"I say genuinely. "I just finished my abs workout and you're wearing your 'I'm just going to assume work out' outfit so spill,"she says downing from her water bottle. She guides me to the locker room so she can shower because of how sweaty she is. But the attractive kind.

"I had a fight with Marlowe a few minutes ago,"

"you guys are always at it over the pettiest shit,"

"thanks for stating the obvious,"I say rolling my eyes.

"But seriously what was it this time? She has you out here at this hour?"

"She asked me to move out and said she'll pay for it as long as I'm out of there,"

"Wow you must have really pissed her off huh? Because you're like her favourite sex toy, she can't let go,"she says making me smack her head so hard she's ready to fight back. That's offensive.

"I decided to move out of the dorms, I need to be serious and I could learn a lot from you so what do you say we rent an apartment together?"

"Your aunt forced you out huh?"

"Yes, she didn't like what she saw on my transcripts,"

"Why not just tell her you want to switch majors like you always wanted?"

"Because May, I only wanted to switch because of the pervert professor but I like it now, it's the endless parties that distract me,"she says reminding me of how ugly it got when he was let go because of the huge number of girls that complained about him. At least be discreet about it. "Fine, let's do it! Now all we need is to find an apartment," I say and she's already smiling cheekily. "I already found one, two bedroom, nice bathroom and you'll definitely love the kitchen,"she says and I just watch her talk because I like when she's happy and excited about something.

"I'm sure Marlowe will be so happy to hear this,"I say and she just wraps her hands around me hugging me from the side.

"You deserve better honestly and she's an ass for not noticing you the way you do her,"

"what?"

"You're not fooling anyone with your sex buddy act, you like her,"she says and I just get up walking away and she follows. She unlocks her bike after gearing up. "Text me when you get to your dorm," I say and she salutes before riding off. When the elevator opens to her penthouse there she is seated on a kitchen barstool with a half glass of what I'd want to think is apple juice but she likes the hard stuff. I try my best to walk past her not once looking in her direction because I already got an eviction notice, I don't know if it could get any worse than that.

"Maven can we talk?"

"Depends, are you okay to?"I ask and she scoffs. She is. I walk back cautiously taking a seat next to her.

"I'm sorry about earlier and for how I've been acting lately,"

"apology accepted. I'm sorry too for bringing people here, this is your place and it was inconsiderate of me,"I say and she's quiet again.

"I don't want you to go because I'm jealous, I just want to be able to walk around here without hoping I don't run into you because of what I said that night,"

"You remember?"

"I do, my life isn't normal and mistakes like that shouldn't be made around people who don't know it,"she says and I can understand that now. She mentioned something so disturbing and I dismissed it because people do make dark jokes after all. "Well Bianca asked me to move in with her. I'll have my things out by the end of tomorrow,"I say and it's the first time she's looked up at me. There's dark circles under her eyes that I hadn't noticed before and I can tell how hard this has been for her. "Thank you for helping me when I needed it,"I say getting off the stool and walk to the room that'd be maven free once again.
