Marlowe's Pov
"Daddy Luigi is hogging my the sandwiches again,"she says pulling me out of my thoughts. She remembers? And she's not mad at me for keeping it from her. "I'll make you one myself when we get home,"I say genuinely and she goes back to her seat on the plain.

"Lu,"

"yes daddy,"

"Nothing,"I say realisizing I'll get her hopes up by telling her about Maven when I've barely assessed the situation. I let her use me because she was grieving. I couldn't stand to look at her that morning because she didn't get just how much being intimate with her meant to me. She's the love that got away and I never moved on. When the jet lands Luigi is already settling Lu into the car with Noah waiting for me which is odd.

"What happened?"

"Alessio is in New York and he's declared war," "how do you know that?" "The bar was vandalized, luckily it was closing time so only the bar tender was killed,"he says seriously which is alarming.

"Why didn't you call me?"

"You were with Luella, I didn't want to worry you,"he says and that's the shittiest excuse even for him. "You fucking call me no matter what Noah! I don't need Police snooping around,"I say walking away from him to possibly strategize. We get to the penthouse with Lu calling me out on my promise. I check my phone and hope she's not asleep by the time I'm done. I decide to make a combo sandwich.

"More cheese please,"she says each time I put a layer of cheese. "Here," I say handing her the large sandwich. She grins making me smile subconsciously. She's adorable. "Luigi keep an eye on her,"I say seriously and he just nods. I change into a pair of loose grey sweats and a black sweatshirt over my white t-shirt, letting my hair down because I just want to see her and it's the best I could do to care about my appearance.

I get in the car and drive to her, making a mental note to stop by a flower vendor. She did survive a car crash. And I'm honestly a little excited to see her. I pull up to the house letting a breath I didn't know I was holding. She's not here. I hesitate on pressing the doorbell but do anyway because I don't work for her anymore. It takes a few minutes before the door is answered. "Marlowe you came,"she says opening the door a little wider for me to enter.

"Hey Maria, where's Maven?"

"She's just putting her daughter to sleep,"she says smiling cheekily. "You know, I've never seen you with your hair down, it brings out your eyes,"she says making my cheeks flush. She walks away pleased with her doing and I just stand there with my flowers. I hear her foot steps coming down the stairs and I just stand there watching her reflection from the clear glass infront of me. "Hey,"she says softly and I turn to face her small figure. Is it me or does she get shorter. "For you, I figured you'd like them,"I say awkwardly. She takes them from me with her fingers grazing mine in the process. With her I just melt.

"Your hair- you're breathtaking,"she says and I think that's the most she's said as far as being bold is concerned.

"Thank you,"

"can I hug you?" She asks and I pull her to me wrapping my arms around her with hers around my torso. We stay like that for a while before we pull away from each other. "Is it weird that I fell a little more in love with you after remembering?"she asks making us both chuckle. I've waited seven years to hear her say that. That she remembers. I've pictured her running to me saying these words to me every other night.

"Not at all,"I say softly and she hugs me again this time sniffling and I stroke her hair gently. She reaches for my hand and guides upstairs which confuses me abit. I can't sleep with her like this. "Maven -"I say but she stops me with her index finger leading me into her room then the outside balcony. Great, I misread the situation. She sits down covering her legs with a blanket because of the cool breeze and I join in the empty space on the other end of the sofa bed so I can get a proper look at her.

"Where is Bianca?"

"She died that night. It was you the shooter was after but Bianca got in the way of his shot,"I say genuinely because I'd never hide anything from her. I don't want to.

"Why did you leave,"

"Because I felt guilty, I thought, if I was away from you my brother wouldn't come after you,"

"You took Luella with you, did my parents resist?"she asks and I let out a sigh. I don't know if she'll want to here this. "Your father didn't want that. Your mother said she'd let me have her if I agreed to leave your life. It was my fault you got hurt and knowing you wouldn't remember me I left,"I say and she just looks over to me relaxed.

"What did you tell Luella?"

"That her mother died, I couldn't tell her the truth knowing you didn't remember her. It'd only break her heart if you openly rejected her,"I say and she wipes a stray tear from her cheek.

"Are you still..you know,"

"what?"I ask cluelessly.

"Are still in the Mafia?"

"Yes. Its a birth rite I can't run away from,"I say. "Is Alessio still trying to kill me?"she asks and I can tell she recognizes him him after he showed up to her office. "I think he has a much bigger goal now," I say genuinely. I was still untrusted in the Mafia that's why he wanted to go after her, to make me step down but now he's more aware. His girlfriend being the daughter of my rival just makes it harder to kill the bastard the old fashion way but I'm tired of it. I will handle him my own way.

"Do you love me?" She asks and I just sit there trying to understand why she'd ask that. "From the moment I hit you with my car and you told me off,"I say making her laugh which confuses me abit. "I was just having a bad day,"she says making me smile. She does remember. "I remember you taking me to the hospital when my water broke, do I have another child?" She asks and I realize she doesn't remember everything that happened that night. "Maves it was umm...you peed. It was just false labor, you had a full bladder,"I say watching her face flush in embarrassment. We laughed it out after.

"Where is Bianca's grave and where are her parents?" She asks simultaneously. "They're in a safe location. They couldn't bury her in California because most of her life was in New York,"I say genuinely. She moves closer to me with her blanket and I position myself properly letting her rest her head on my chest. They were so inseparable and she was always protective of her. Maven the mature one and Bianca the fun one, from what her best friend would always say.

"You never changed your cologne,"she says inhaling me.

"You loved this cologne,"

"I still do,"she says. We stay like that for a while before she shoots her head up making front Abit at the absence of her warmth. "I want to sleep next to you,"she says getting up and I don't object, following her inside. She she gets in the bed patting an empty spot on her right side and I walk cautiously towards her getting in and she snakes her arm around my torso under the covers. I plant a kiss on her forehead feeling her breathing on my chest. We stay like that until her breathing is slow and steady. I'm not leaving her again. I made that mistake once. Where is her mother anyway? I want to tell her but she just found out about everything. I can't tell her that her mom had her dad killed, it would break her.
