The gasp that pierced the night sent a jolt through Clara and Marlene, shattering their intimate moment.

Frozen like deer caught in headlights, they turned to see Finn, the new star athlete at Schiller Gymnasium, standing in the doorway, his face a mask of shock.

Finn, with his sun-kissed hair and perpetually tousled curls, had recently transferred to their school.

He'd taken an immediate shine to Clara, his easy smile and playful banter making him a welcome addition to their friend group (well, mostly).

Now, witnessing their secret unfold before his eyes, his usual carefree demeanor was replaced by a mixture of surprise and a hint of hurt.

"Oh my god,"

he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper.

"I... I didn't mean to interrupt."

Marlene, her cheeks burning with a mix of embarrassment and a strange pang of possessiveness, quickly stepped back from Clara.

"Finn,"

she managed, her voice a tight knot in her throat.

"What are you doing here?"

Finn's gaze flickered between them, his confusion deepening.

"I, uh... I was just leaving practice. Didn't realize anyone was still here."

The tension hung thick in the air, a tangled mess of emotions threatening to spill over.

Clara, her mind racing, could feel Marlene's unspoken question: was there something going on with Finn?

The answer, a resounding no, wouldn't erase the sting of jealousy that flickered in Marlene's eyes.

"We were just... talking,"

Clara finally managed, her voice strained.

Finn nodded curtly, his eyes lingering on Clara for a beat too long.

"Well,"

he said, his voice low,

"I should probably get going."

With a final hesitant glance, he turned and disappeared down the stairs.

The weight of his unexpected arrival settled over them like a shroud.

The romantic mood, so beautifully fragile moments ago, was shattered.

"Are you okay?"

Marlene asked, her voice laced with concern, but also a touch of something else – a possessiveness that surprised even her.

Clara looked away, a knot of guilt tightening in her stomach.

Finn's unexpected appearance had thrown everything into disarray.

It was clear he held feelings for her,

feelings that she didn't reciprocate.

Yet, seeing the flicker of jealousy in Marlene's eyes made a strange sense of satisfaction bloom in her chest.

"We need to talk,"

Clara said finally, her voice firm despite the turmoil within.

"About everything."

Marlene nodded, a flicker of
understanding replacing the jealousy in her eyes.

The night's performance, their daring act of defiance, had irrevocably changed everything.

Now, they had to navigate the complex landscape of their relationship, a landscape suddenly populated by a jealous newcomer and the weight of
their newfound public declaration.
